Can someone explain being a member of gym that lacks towel service & showers?

+1 I don't want to haul all my stuff to the gym. I go home to shower.

You can have your own dedicated locker, so you don’t have to haul everything each time.

We’re not all precious orchids. How much do you stink after working out? You can’t go 30 min without washing your face? Carry wipes.

The harsh chemicals used by gyms to clean their towels is a hazard to the environment. You’re being selfish by needing several towels that must be then cleaned in harsh chemicals every visit.

I either walk or ride my bike to my gym or am in the car about five minutes. This does not stink up my car, even after a hard workout

I personally have not broken out sine I was a teenager, so no, my face and back do not breakout after sweating and not showering right away.

I used to belong to Snap Fitness. No showers, no classes, but I could always get a treadmill and use the weights, and they were open 24 hours and it was five minutes from my house.

I would usually work out at 8:30 pm, after I put my young kids to bed. Then come home to shower.

If it was daytime, I would run to the gym, do my weights, and run home.

So this model worked really well for me.

My gym has towel service, showers, pools, and sauna, and I have never used them. So it’s not on everybody’s priority list. I go to the gym from home and come back to my home to shower and change. If it were up to me, I would gladly go to a cheaper gym that didn’t have those services. Just my .02

Harsh chemicals like bleach? People use bleach at home on their white laundry too.

I would never want to shower in a public shower personally.

No and no. I go to the gym that is cheap. It is better than not going to the gym at all.

Seriously. Getting into my car sweaty for a 5 minute drive home is literally the least of my worries.

And no, the car doesn't smell from that. I am not running a marathon at the gym.

People that have smelly or dingy cars don’t realize it because it’s your smell.

How big and gross are you? None of that happens. Sometimes I end up running errands and don't shower for a while-the horror!!

Some of us are East Asian and have the recessive gene that doesn't produce body odor.
