Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
So, adding more is a bad idea. They should have gone virtual this week. |
| I guess they should've tried to open on wednesday. I bet they close tomorrow. |
That's what I keep seeing but my DH seems to be reading the opposite that we're getting less than predicted. I think they'll close if the timing is right that snow will be falling at an accumulating pace early Friday AM. My 10yr old and I have already made plans to take a little walk in Great Falls if that's the case since it's always so pretty in the snow. The high schooler will just enjoy a third day lounging around with friends. unless virtual school comes along to ruin the entire day. sigh. |
|
Closed tomorrow.
Agree that they should have opened on Wednesday. And they should have been open last Tuesday for that rain closure. |
| My 10th grader was told to be ready for virtual on Friday and was sent zoom links from some of the teachers. |
|
They couldn’t open on Wednesday because so many lots were not plowed.
The lots should have been plowed- that was a fail. |
| I’m reading on WTOP low amount of snow but high impact to roads, so I think closure. |
|
The ground has been sub-freezing for almost a week at this point--any snow that falls is going to accumulate right away (which is not something that is quite that common around here; usually the ground has been warmer in advance of snow).
Closure. |
| What I'd like to know is why the go crazy when my kid is actively throwing up and misses a day of school, but close at the drop of a pin for tiny bits of snow. |
|
My favorite line: "parents await the release of the MCPS adult coloring book, a stress relieving activity full of relaxing pages depicting overcrowded classrooms and PTA meetings" |
| Closure— would be more uncertainty if it were overnight, but during the morning commute this seems like a done deal. |
| 100% closing school. |
|
Ok that was funny |
| NWS just increased projected snow totals on their map, with an expected 3" across the county (low end possible 1" to high end of 5"): https://www.weather.gov/lwx/winter |
