Not a troll post. Trying to spark a real and smart conversation. Looks what's going on around us with shifting attitudes toward the "elite" schools.

There’s no “shifting attitudes.” There’s just the usual cast of right-wing agitators trying to make fetch happen.

No they don't. Harvard has a liberal agenda (now), Hillsdale has (always had) a conservative agenda. They are places for breeding idealogues, not scholars.

If not Hillsdale then what about U of Chicago?

Hillsdale is a solid school for Classics majors.

His daughter … <checks notes> … has to rely on nepotism to be eye candy on WoF.

She’s not exactly setting the world on fire.

Maybe not, but her bank account is. And she seems like a really nice person. Very attractive.

The fact the that Rep. Stefanik got kicked off of the Harvard Senior Advisory Committee after she promoted Trump's false claims in the 2020 election - she clearly has an ax to grind.

No.

Or rather, there’s not much overlap in their respective pools of admitted prospective students.

If you would’ve said Duke or something….

I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about colleges, and I had never heard of Hillsdale until about a week ago. It makes me think of Hillman, the fictional college that Denise Huxtable went to.

Hillsdale aims to be the Harvard of the alt-right Christo-fascist set.

In the past week or so someone has succeeded in getting a lot of us to google it. I guess that was the point?

Harvard was founded in the 1600s and has been considered a top college for hundreds of years. It's not going anywhere.

The argument that any of the great universities will fall and be replaced doesn't really make sense.

Would a Catholic family that’s attracted to Notre Dame be interested in Hillsdale? Is it super Protestant?
