Who knew that Mary Lou Retton became a right wing nut job?

This is how I feel. I loved her so much as a child. I watched her intently during the Olympics. I hope she gets better but, no, I won't be giving her a cent. Plus, she has a net worth of $2 mil, as reported on numerous sites. Why does she NEED donations?

I’ll admit, I don’t admire people who had the means to complete high school, and didn’t. I’m fine with people from WV btw. ~ NP

Her fund has already collected over $350,000.

I’m so sick of these MAGA hypocrites. She’s probably against socialism….or something.

What about all those people who don't have $2mil assets? She is anti-ACA. Will she start gofundmes for everyone who doesn't have insurance?

I hope she recovers, but it's hard to feel compassion for someone who herself has no compassion for others.

And there's something seriously wrong with her to oppose a law that would protect young girls from sexual predators. She has daughters, too. It's like when the whole pu&&y grabbing tapes came out with Trump, and I saw an interview with this woman with her teen DD's. She said of the tapes, "It's just boys being boys. It's not a big deal." Right next to her daughters. WTF kind of mother is that?

Do you not think that her not completing HS had something to do with her gymnastics career?
Might she have gotten her GED?
Why, yes, she did.
And, I'll say it again and again. Attending college does not magically grant someone "intelligence." Some of the smartest, most knowledgeable people I know didn't go to 1 year of college.

"I guess I've kept very busy," she said recently. "I can't believe it's an Olympic year again. My mother always said, 'You'll go to the Olympics, then you'll go home and finish high school at Fairmont High.' That's always what I planned to do."

But that is not quite what happened.

Retton did get her high school diploma. But she had to wedge her studies between dozens of speeches at clinics and banquets and appearances in commercials for cereal and batteries and shampoo.

NP. Intelligence and a good education are not the same thing. If she hasn't ever expanded her worldview beyond her small gymnast circle, then yes, I judge.

I'm aware. Just proves how dumb people are. But not one cent is from me.

Seriously! Get out of the house and step away. The labeling and hate you spew is sad and says a lot about your own unhappiness in life. The cardio and endorphins from a jog will work wonders.

It’s really trashy to speak poorly about someone who is sick in hospital regardless of how they got there.

And, how do you know she hasn't? Do you personally know her?
Or, are you just offended that she does not buy into all the nonsense pushed by liberals?

She’s clearly not all that smart if she chose to remain uninsured.

You have no idea as to why she is uninsured, of even if she is totally uninsured.
