George W Bush

My neighbor has one of Ws still on his car. Ugh!

That was my post. It was supposed to be funny (I know full well about the W and the crossed-out W). Guess I missed the mark!

I live in the Foxhall area. I see lots of GV (Visitation) stickers/magnets. Agree with the previous comments on prevalence of the Gonzaga G and St Pats. Lots of WIS. Some Maret. Lots of Beauvoir and NCS but fewer St Albans. Never ever see Sidwell. Some GDS. Some NPS. Lots of blue paws - think that is also Potomac as well as Holton.

McLean reporting in with a prevalence of Landon. Some Gonzaga. Rare sighting of Holton.

Beauvoir stickers are plentiful. I see some STA but less NCS and Sidwell. Lots of Holton and Landon.

Arlington here- I rarely see private school bumper stickers. I do see a lot of Congo camp ones, though.

I never see Sidwell or St. Albans stickers. I see tons from St. Patrick's, Gonzaga, NCS, and Georgetown Prep (interlocking g and p)

Sidwell parents don't usually have stickers on their cars, because they prefer to be a little more refined and understated.

The Catholic schools trump all others in the bumper sticker wars - at least in NW DC.

OOOOPS. Wrong thread. Move to "Most Obnoxious." Though I assumed poster had tongue wedged in cheek.

I live close to Alexandria and I noticed a car with EHS as part of their license plate. For the longest time, I thought they were referring to Edison High School, which is a public high school on Franconia Road. Learned later they were referring to Episcopal High School ... an almost $40k a year difference!! Imagine how disturbed they would have been if they'd known of my mistake!!! Ha!

Color me insecure if you want, but I have our private school's sticker on my car, as well as a soccer ball for my son's team. My kid had fun putting them on. We try to reinforce his sense of belonging to a community in any way we can since we have no family or close network of friends here. I couldn't care less about impressing the guy in the car next to me.

When I was in graduate school with a bunch of overeducated students, it wasn't uncommong to see cars with 3 or 4 stickers stacked on top of each other. I never did that or even wear a tshirt with my school name on it, because I thought it was tacky. I was overthinking it. It was a helluva lot of work collecting those degrees. Why not put a sticker on your car for a couple of years?

We have a school magnet on our, er, vehicle. I'm sure there are those who would prefer to see us take it off . Predict the magnet will outlast the the vehicle, but we'll give them the best run we can.
