What is the most prevalent private school bumper sticker in DC Metro Area?

Really? Why? That is just ridiculous.

I have the same question. And just to be clear, my question is "Why do you think private school bumper stickers are in poor taste?"

I'm so confused. Why in the world would anyone care what another person has displayed on their car? I think quite a few people are living their lives on a stage, yet when the house lights go on, they'll realize they are the only one in the auditorium..... Enjoy your lives, if you want to put a magnet/bumper sticker on your car, that's your business. Does anyone understand that life is so short and quite fragile. Try to focus on the things that are really important. This is a great time of year to count your blessings, not how many cars have magnets.

I have to agree that it is in poor taste (regardless of the economy), but it is only my opinion. You're kidding yourselves if you don't believe that, for a lot of people, these stickers are nothing more than another designer label. And they are large and pervasive -- like the Ralph Lauren shirts with the huge polo logo on them. Except you're stuck looking at them for 20 minutes in Foxhall rush hour.

Question - if you see a Big 3 sticker on a car in front of you, does that change your driving behavior in any way?

These parents more often than not come from more modest backgrounds than most of us here and are genuinely proud of their kids, not the school. I wouldn't put such a sticker on my car, but I don't begrudge them. Now my children attend what I just referred to as fancy private schools and I would never even consider a sticker on my car. Its just bragging and to me very different.

Translation: Isn't that nice that my gardener, Jorge, is so proud of his kid making the honor roll in some sad little "remote" public school in PG Co. I mean, I don't need to brag. It's different b/c, well, I already win at life and we all know that.

PP I love you!

There is something really wrong with you. I bet your kid does not even attend private school. Or even better, did not get accepted to Landon or any other private school for that matter. You are a troll and could stand to sort out your very obvious issues. Good luck with that!

Not a Landon parent, but really getting sick of the silly jabs.

Why does everyone hate Landon so much? Is it really all the bad publicity? Or is the school different in some way?

I see more Georgetown Prep stickers than other private schools. Second would be Mater Dei stickers.

Know of a family at our club who has a sticker on her car from a big 3 school her kid got kicked out of 2 years ago!

Wow. That is pretty funny.

I see a lot of Holton Arms, Stone Ridge, and Landon stickers. Personally it's not my taste but to each their own. I actually can't stand those "My child is an honor roll student" stickers as well. Tacky! But I guess if you are shelling out $30K a year for kindergarten, you want to make sure everyone knows....

Actually I have a few friends whose children only went to summer camp at a private school and then bought a bumper sticker. Again, tacky....

Exactly! Same with ACK. What is up with this? I buy the community thing for schools, but there's no reason to announce to strangers where you vacation.

To each his/her own.

Love ACK.
