Because there is a subset of morons that are trying to take away cars. Just like there is a subset of morons trying to take away gas stoves. It's an exaggeration based on a truth and no different than the subset of morons banning books etc. It's unfortunate but that is why we all need to tell these subsets of morons that they are morons.

Please post where cars have been outlawed.

They haven't been but, as I said, there is indeed a subset of morons that are pushing for that.

BoThSides!!! You really need to learn the difference between imagined online activity, and actual policy and legislation.
Books are ACTUALLY being banned. Right now.
Cars are not. Those things aren’t equal.

Most of the time I've heard about book banning, they haven't been. It'll be something like the book being moved from the kid section of a library to an older section. I still think the moral panic of the people seeking to make books harder for kids to get is ridiculous. Have they seen what's on the Internet? But the claims of "bans" have been overstated any time I looked into the details.

Man, memories are short here.

I can remember during the throes of the pandemic, how many people were opining about living in an area that isn't so populated with people living on top of each other. I am lucky enough to live in an area like that. Yes, we have to drive a bit to get places, but I wouldn't trade my life of space and greenery and nature with a "15 minute city" ever.

You didn’t think that was going to last, did you? I live in the exurbs too, and I love it, but I wasn’t being smug toward by friends living in NYC. I understood it was a moment in time, and wasn’t permanent.

No one is "taking away" gas stoves. However, in the future, not being dependent on fossil fuels is beneficial to the air we breathe. As such, there will be strong incentives to buy induction stoves and ovens.

And that is your right. However the overwhelming majority of the world population and US population lives in cities, and we need to make them as efficient as possible.

+1 If American towns looked like this people would be happier.

Then why don't they live in them?

This is urban planning for people who do live in cities. If you don't live or work there, this isn't the sort of plan that would matter much for your daily life.

Morons are morons and they should all be called what they are, morons. Banning Maus is just as preposterously stupid as banning cars. If you're that concerned with the election then call the morons morons before they get associated with the party.

We are going to oppress you by choosing to live in pleasant livable neighborhoods, towns, and villages. The horror!

You will still have the option to live in your country club gated community hell scape.

There was literally a guy from the WEF talking about Covid, saying that people were willing and able to be controlled and comply for a virus that wasn’t all that deadly, so they should be easy to control when you scare them with climate change and/or a more deadly virus. Watch their speeches.
