Anyone who refused the updated Covid boosters are dinosaurs? Uptake on these 'new boosters' is very very low. I guess there are a lot of dinosaurs out there! |
I am pro-vaccine in general and understand the devastation Covid has wreaked. My 85-year-old mother is permanently disabled from Covid (in 2020, before vaccines were available). However, the vaccine will not stop me from getting Covid, nor will it stop me from spreading it. I have had Covid and recovered, so I have immunity. I will get Covid in the future many times again and the vaccine cannot prevent that.
I do encourage my mother to get every booster available, however. I am grateful that the vaccine exists because I understand that it has saved many lives. |
Oh my gosh! There’s a vaccine for the common cold? Please link, thanks! |
Covid is now NBD for “most” healthy people. A lot of people died from it. It was scary in the beginning. The first versions were more dangerous than the current versions. The statistics show that the overwhelming majority of people who died were elderly with health conditions. Most of those who died at younger ages also had health conditions. If you fall in a high risk category, you should care about Covid. The problem with the risk of rare side effects from the vaccine is that they are not as predictable as assessing for the risk of complications from Covid. There are a lot of healthy kids and adults who don’t feel the need to risk a rare side effect, particularly now, given that the overwhelming majority of the population has already had Covid and the virus is now very mild.
I have had 3 shots, one bout of Covid, and see no need for additional shots. I’m very aware of how many people died from Covid. The risks are now too low for me to care about further vaccines but that could change in the future with new evidence. |
There isn’t a good reason because they’re being irrational. Can’t reason with crazy. |
Literally, lots of good reasons have already been given. But besides that, the question/premise is false. |
I think if the vax was not mandated there would be less of the issue. The mandates were a big issue. |
I guess the PP is referring to the RSV vaccine. |
There was no vaccine police going around forcing people to be vaccinated. Certainly for occupations that served vulnerable populations like nurses and firefighters vaccine mandates were justifiable. They don't have a "right" to work these jobs unvaccinated. |
They absolutely DO have a right to work. It doesn't prevent transmission! There was no need for these mandates. Also, I work for a large company that has nothing to do with healthcare. They were mandating the vax on all new hires. ABSOLUTELY INSANE. |
Other jobs had vaccine requirements as well as colleges and summer camps. |
Good to see your company show leadership by providing a safe workplace and weeding out idiots in the hiring process. |
Nobody has actually answered OP’s question. |
Or tested too early without an appropriately timed follow up test. |
Good. |
