+1 Good for your DD. Sounds like a great kid. Did you know that Towson has a really good music department? I know because my DH is a musician.

Nothing to be jealous of. If he liked he would have gone. College Park has always been a zero. Even with all the new build its still a zero. |
Yeah that attitude is probably why he couldn’t get in fall semester. But whatever. You don’t need UMD, they certainly didn’t want your kiddo either so all good. |
Not sure why you're so offended. UMD is a good school just in a not so interesting place. |
I agree, and my kid was accepted with Honors. He's not going to UMD. We found the campus entirely awful. I'm very happy for all the families who like it, though! Good for you! |
Their kid goes to UMD and now they feel put upon, that's why. So they call other people "jealous".
To each his own. |
Actually it's not the "attitude", it's the Cs and Bs he got freshman and sophomore year. I've posted his stats many times. He's a smart kid but lazy. |
| UMD was my kids second choice, a smaller campus was more of his interest but he realized the cost and other advantages to UMD - variety in degree options, innovation on campus etc. He never liked the UMD campus but felt very comfortable there. Ultimately he selected another smaller school because he felt like it was a better fit. |
It is great that Cs and Bs don’t preclude admission to UMD. |
| I keep saying that if only they had put UMD in Annapolis it would be much more desirable to my kids and many others. Instead, they put it in College Park... |
LOL. Yep. That's true! DH and I both went to schools with really pretty campuses with inviting surroundings.. green, lakes, etc. Neither one of us could get past the College Park thing. |
but the proximity to DC makes it great for internships. |
if they didn't want to go, they should not have applied. |
It seems like half the teachers went to Towson. Is it an ed school or something? |
Yes, it is well known for its teaching program. |
