Post 60? That's probably not a good idea. You likely need D and B12 just to start.

Even though there is no evidence they help?

Vitamins and supplements are unregulated and studies have shown multivitamins are not helpful. Why should we buy expensive vitamins when there is no guarantee they are helpful.

For those who take them, how did you figure o it what you needed? I probably need some, but don’t quite know where to start.

I take them because my diet has gaps, and because I feel and function better with my current regimen. In the possible — but unlikely— chance that it’s a placebo effect, I’m fine with that.

Wow, I can’t believe my post was deleted on this thread. Unbelievable.

About twice a year, I use Cronometer to track what I eat for a week or more. It shows how much of the rda I am getting for each vitamin and mineral from my typical diet. Then I supplement where I’m regularly coming up short (usually in calcium, potassium, vitamin k and vitamin e.) Or in some cases add things to my diet like cheese, nuts and avocados, but I find that harder to sustain, tbh.

We take a Vitamin for Women or Men Age 50+. We have also taken Airborn each morning since Covid started. I take Fish Oil some nights.

A daughter who lives with us and has a disability take a Liquid Iron Vitamin with B12 and Vitamin D3 in the morning. She also takes a Fish Oil liquid at night. She says she often feels stiff after a good night's sleep, but given her work there can be a reason. Still moving Fish Oil to night from morning recently seems to be helping with less early morning complaining.

Gosh lol has been proven ineffective years ago.

B12 because I was deficient and it gave me back some energy
Magnesium because it helps with my afib
Vit D because I become deficient in the dark half of the year

Are you taking any prescription medication for your a fib? That’s very serious.

Cool tip thanks! I like your data driven approach.

I love how people start taking pills instead of just eating actual food and exercising. Nature didn't make it so you had to pop the latest supp you'll just urinate out anyway in order to be healthy. Go eat a piece of fruit.

Curious what it said. I am noticing some of mine get deleted too despite being mild content. This place is becoming like Popville

I talked about some studies that support benefits for omega 3. I assume the anti-supplements poster reported it because she disagreed. Why participate on a thread if you silence people who disagree?

Because some people must take supplements to compensate for food intolerances. For example, I have celiac disease and can’t eat bread, which is often fortified. Gluten free bread is garbage so I don’t eat it. I am often low in B12 and always D. You don’t represent everyone. What works for you, may not for others.

Same here. So many of my posts across all the forums are gone - and none were controversial. I noticed it after the site went down the other day. Maybe that's the issue?
