Hi p. Your husband is a man. I’m pretty sure you are a woman. It’s more important for men to clean well like that. They tend to be smellier and have oilier skin.
I put soap under my breast and underarms. I use soap when I shave my legs. I only rarely wash my arms and back. My shampoo and conditioner act as soap as it rinses off down my body. You should be glad your husband is thorough because otherwise he might smell. But unless you smell, you’re fine. |
Oh I do wash my feet a few times a week too |
Oh wait. I also wash my face daily |
I think OP is unclean |
DP but I never use soap or cleanser on my face. I rarely wear make up and when I do I use makeup remover. I heard Oprah answer a question about what she uses to wash her face because it always looks good and she said water and a great moisturizer. If it’s good enough for O, it’s good enough for me. And, just last month I said I only use water or my sister and niece and they couldn’t believe it because they said I had the best skin in the family (I had honestly never thought about it before). |
I don’t. Unless I’m visibly grimy from dirt or have worn sunscreen the only parts that get lathered up are my pits, crotch, and butt. Feet sometimes but usually not.
I don’t think your DH is weird though. Just a thorough guy. |
I clean my arms and armpits well with soap, as well as my
Chest. I also clean my feet each time. I’m usually lazy about my legs but I feel like the soap run is enough there. Sometimes I specifically clean legs |
I think you both do what works for you and you should stop judging. I don’t wash my face or feet. I do use a scrubby with shower gel every day to get my pits and bits. I don’t wear makeup and a couple times a month I’ll use a cleansing wipe on my face. Aside from that it’s just water then drying with a towel. |
Since perimenopause I wash my chest, back, and back of thighs with scrub mits or I get breakouts and blackheads. I have foot odor thanks to a childhood spent in locker rooms during swim meets, so I also clean between toes and all surfaces of feet. Face gets washed with face cleanser, pits and behind get soaped. Everywhere else (so arms and legs I guess?) get a quick hand wash with soap. I think different people need different levels of washing to get to the same level of cleanliness, so as long as everyone comes out clean, then have at it. |
I'm somewhere between you two. I wash my neck, underarms, underboobs, and - um - midsection daily, with soap. Legs, I mostly just let the soapy water run over them, unless it's shaving day, then I wash with soap after shaving to make sure the shaving residue is all gone. Never really scrub my back or arms unless I'm particularly dirty for some reason. I wash my face at the sink at night, then just splash water on it in the shower in the morning. |
Team DH |
Your DH is the normal one. That’s how people are supposed to shower. |
This reminds me of the scene in You’re the Worst when Gretchen tells Jimmy she doesn’t wash her legs. https://youtu.be/_cPoTu1OWGA |
You're the weird one, OP. |
Washcloths on face and derrière only. Soap on armpits and crotch only. |
