Friends are mocking my credit card

Just say “okay that’s enough on the credit card, I’m starting to feel quite sensitive about it.”

OP as someone who has been (IMO, inexplicably) teased for random crap throughout my life, just roll with it. Heck, lean into it. I'd start dancing around like Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder, bragging about what I baller I am. It's the only way to diffuse the jokes.

Wow it has a $700 annual fee. They think you are loaded!

I had an Amex platinum card for all of my 20s - when my annual business travel expenses far exceeded my annual income - and the fee was paid by my company. I have a lot more money now - but no platinum cards because we don’t travel by air or stay in hotels much and prefer cash back cards.

ESH. Your friends should not tease you about your credit card choice, but it is really a small stupid thing. You are taking a stupid joke way too defensively and seriously.

“Dudes, I have a platinum card because of Larlo’s military service. When I become an actual high roller, I’ll let you know!”

You need better friends.

This is a dumb thing to let bother you.

Didn't know it was the card to get. I hated the two Amex cards I ever had, and would definitely not get one with a fee unless it was waved forever.
Several of my cards are Platinum. They give them away freely.
They may have confused it with the black card.

OP wrote: "Fee is waived since DH is in the military." Otherwise, the annual fee is $695.

OP: Your friends probably think that you are paying $695 a year for the AMEX Platinum Card in order to impress others. In reality, it is a meaningful benefit (no annual fee with high rewards) of military service. Your friends are ignorant, shallow, small-minded, and insensitive. If this is the focus--or even a focus-of their thoughts and words, then you might want to consider making new friends.

This seems like the most natural response to me, too. NBD.

+1
This is dumb and immature of them and not how friends treat each other.

I don’t have a platinum card. ??

Right..."All you have to do to get one is serve your country!"

This was a month ago, why are you still thinking about it?
Also, if you're trying to humble brag here, ain't no one impressed.
