Flint Hill Holiday Chorus Concert Cancelled

Total fake news

I don't understand the admin's decision to cancel at the last minute. The list of songs was public more than a month ago, so if somebody had a problem with the content they could have made it known far sooner. Cancellation at the last moment was uncalled for.

I'm sure Glenn would be willing to accept the complaint, notwithstanding that. This is exactly the type of low hanging fruit he loves to appeal to the crazies.

Having said that, FH could very easily just address this by saying something or explaining the cancellation.

Anonymous wrote:Question for OP- was your child singing only Christmas songs? Curious if rumor true what was found too Christmas. Our school had performance but no mention of Christmas- songs included couple for Hanukkah, 1 for Festival of Lights, 1 for world peace and 2 for winter- no songs mentioned Santa or Jesus/Mary.

OP here - as far as I know it was all Christmas themed… but not necessarily Christmas songs… for example I think there was that song from RENT How do you measure a year…

+1
The new principal just proved that he is not the best choice for the job... Principal Hertzberg was very transparent. I didn't like her opinion about AAP, but we always knew what's going on. Her communication with parents was perfect.

Can we all just acknowledge that Christmas isn’t about Jesus anymore and get back to celebrating Christmas?
Buddhist families, agnostic families, many Jewish families and some Muslim families celebrate Christmas because the recognize the tree and Santa aren’t about Jesus. It is at this point secular. It is about Capitalism, buying presents and giving presents. Most retailers rely on Christmas to keep going.
Let’s decouple Christianity and Santa and celebrate capitalism and have a holiday that brings us (the United States) together across the entire religious spectrum in the name of spending and giving.

I am not sure what you are talking about. It's not about spending and giving, but about canceling the kids' chorus concert in a very bad way. Kids were practicing for a month or so and they were so happy to sing in front of their parents. Parents got an hour before the performance a quick note from the administration without any explanation, which led to very bad gossip.

So, OP, what did the principal say when you called him to ask about the cancellation today?

Hahahaha. Lazy OP didn't call, she just texted all her friends and they continued spreading vicious rumors.

I heard the choral director and lead soprano came down with a bad case of Covid diarrhea.

You may think that you are funny. And you probably don't have a kid in school. And you are probably not Jewish so you don't need to worry that your kid will be bullied because he/she is "guilty" for canceling the concert.
