The blood pressure may be unrelated to your weight. See a doctor for meds. |
"Yesterday I had one cup of yogurt and an apple for breakfast, for lunch just a 1/4 cup of nuts and a banana and then chicken soup with a tomato based broth with potatoes and carrots and a side salad. "
OP your issue is your diet. You're eating a ton of sugar. Apples and bananas are notoriously high in sugar, and potatoes convert to simple sugar after ingested. The only fruits I touch are berries, and even then not a lot of them. And if I eat an apple or a banana it actually increases my appetite so no thank you to that. Increase your proteins and fats, decrease your overall carbs. |
Oh stop. They are not eating “a ton” of sugar. |
Yes, OP is eating too much sugar. Problem in our society is our foods are loaded with sugars and salt, and the collective "we" all fat because of it. |
Have you tried not eating as much? Literally calories are units of heat used to measure energy. If you burn the stored energy without replacing it, you will lose weight. It is simple physics. The diet industry is a billion dollar industry that you don’t need. Physics are physics period. |
Starches concert to sugar and fruits have a lot of sugar |
Op has a banana and apple. |
As long as you burn the energy there isn’t a problem. OP is eating too many calories if not losing weight- the apple and banana can be part of a heathy diet so long as you burn more than you consume if weight loss is goal |
Literally does not matter. At the end of the end of the day calories are what matter. Not it is easier to overeat starches and sugar, but as long as calories are in check OP will lose weight even while eating banana and apples. |
The fiber is fruits pretty much negates the nonsense you're spewing. Nothing wrong with eating fruits and vegetables. |
Give me a break. It's an apple, banana and potatoes. The sugars and starches are not coming from highly processed foods. You need sugar to live. Apples have all sorts of antioxidants, fiber, and phytomolecules that promote health. OP said they have high blood pressure. Bananas and potatoes are loaded with potassium, which helps fight high blood pressure. The hard part here is balancing reduced calorie intake with trying to maintain a rigorous exercise program. Consumption of carb laden foods high in fiber can help, because they can contain complex carbohydrates like inulin that can suppress hunger and make you feel satiated for much longer in lower calories. Increasing fiber consumption can help suppress appetite. |
Apples, bananas, and potatoes are not refined sugar and our bodies process them differently. It is insanity to ding people for fiber and nutrient loaded fruits. Get out of here with the keto garbage. |
I eat cookies every day and I am lean. And it is not because I am naturally that way. I just watch my total calories. |
OP, you need to track your food. My activity level is similar to yours and I am around 150lbs. I easily lose eating 2000 calories. But I track everything and I am pretty sure that I am eating on target.
Eat more to lose is non-sense, those who have success with that generally just stick to the higher calories better, instead of eating 1000 calories during the week and then bingeing all weekend. If you are in a true deficit you will lose. The higher the deficit the more you will lose. |
Yes to all of this! To better explain what I bolded. Let's say the calories you need to maintain your current weigh are 2000. You will lose whether you eat 1900 or 1200 or 800. However, you will lose at a faster rate if you eat 800. You will also still likely lose on 800 call if you aren't as strict with tacking, because there is a lot more wiggle room when aiming for such a large deficit and if you forget to track that food you snacked on while making dinner, no big deal you are still in a deficit. Now I am NOT advocating to eat 800 cal, that is insane. When you eat too few calories it is not typically sustainable so you do it for a few days before overeating. Now when you eat 1700 cal you will lose more slowly, but it is more sustainable ad you will still be able to enjoy life, however, you do need to track more carefully because forgetting to track that snack or few bites of your kids food will quickly put you at your maintenance calories. This is why some people claim they lost more when they are more. They weren't really eating more, but rather more able to be consistent when eating more calories. On their ultra low calorie plan they were starving themselves for a few days a week and overeating the other days because they felt so deprived. |
