Unexpectedly enjoyable activities

Every type of run, lately. I dread it but always happy once I start.

Volunteering backstage at my kid’s ballet performance. I’m an introvert and a reluctant dance mom but I discovered I’m pretty handy with bobby pins and have quick hands with tiny costume hooks. I even made a new mom friend, which is huge for me.

Ha, I was going to say clerk of course at summer swim meets!

Also: carpooling.

+1 to clerk of the course. I really enjoyed chatting up all the swimmers.

There are lots of trails near where I live. I love to pick up trash and make the trails look pretty and clean. And I have also been spreading native wildflower seeds at the sides of the trails since the pandemic, and it is wonderful to see some of the patches bloom and look very colorful. It just makes me very, very happy.

Attending a local college sports game - almost anything, really. Such a fun atmosphere!

It was SO STINKING FUN! We went back every year after that.

Stinking No. Just...NO

Me - leaf cleanup (using combination rake and handheld blower). It's so satisfying to pile the leaves up!

What does ITT mean and why was it used to start a discussion?

Chopppin broc-coliiiii. C'mon man nobody gets this reference?

One activity I found surprisingly satisfying this past winter was shelling nuts. Back in the day my parents always had nuts in the shell hanging around, along with crackers and picks. I never got it. During Covid I had a ton of pecans to shell from my parent's tree. I put on satellite radio, got a class of wine and shelled away. It was surprisingly calming. I made an awesome pie this Thanksgiving.

I do this too, but mostly on city streets.

Ok I didn’t think I had an answer to this question, but this reminds me how much I enjoy shucking corn. Was always the chore my mom assigned me and my sister as kids and brings back memories of sitting on our back deck (my mom didn’t like when the threads were in the kitchen, so this was always an outside job). Still love it as an adult.
