Me - leaf cleanup (using combination rake and handheld blower). It's so satisfying to pile the leaves up! |
I agree that leaf cleanup is fun.
Similarly, I enjoy weeding. |
Taking my son to Monster Jam. I thought I was going to die of boredom in redneck hell. Here we are about to go for the 5th straight year (minus COVID). |
Running
Leaf clean up (raking is so satisfying!) Kids soccer games |
Summer swim meet timing |
My mom always made my siblings and I polish all her silver at the end of the summer before school started.
Sisters hated it, I loved it. |
Years ago, on internship in a rinky-dink corporate town, someone suggested going to the hot air balloon festival. We all sort of internally rolled our eyes, but we went…because there was nothing else to do.
It was SO STINKING FUN! We went back every year after that. ![]() |
Ha, I was going to say clerk of course at summer swim meets! Also: carpooling. |
Seeing Taylor Swift and Imagine Dragons in concerts with young teens. |
+1 for carpooling. The overheard conversations are so entertaining. |
GOTR. |
Pickleball - I've never enjoyed playing any type of sports |
Sail racing.
I'm a reluctant sailor, having taken some lessons with DH, who's passionate about it but discovered it late in life. A colleague who's really into sailing found out about our recent training and asked us to join her team in sail racing. I dreaded it, given our inexperience, but ended up loving every minute. It was exhilarating, and our team was laid back and fun. |
Painting.
I find it so freaking soothing to tape it off, trim, paint... everything about it! I was dreading it the first time I did it as an adult because I remembered my parents always bickering. I have no idea what their issues were because I found it so fun and relaxing! |
