Name something he’s done that we couldn’t have done without him.

Flipped two court circuits?

Put in place more liberal judges in a shorter amount time than any other period?

Nominated and supported Kentanji Jackson?

Passed the Infrastructure Act?

A democrat from and pointless and worthless state who has effectively usurped the leadership mantle of the party, prevents the codifying in law of abortion, and is dancing on humanity’s grave as we hurtle full speed ahead into the climate apocalypse. But yes he’s a democrat so we should all be happy. With right-wingers like him in the party who needs republicans.

Remember how the GOP had no party platform at its convention? And, people still voted for them. The Dems have a diverse group of people with lots of ideas about the same thing, but differ how to go about it. The article expresses this via Sanders.

What good is the seat? It might as well be a Republican - at lest we’d know where they were going to vote. Manchin is literally useless and actually hurts more than he helps.

Now, Manchin seems to be one of those old fashioned politicians. You know the kind where money talks. Maybe we should start a gofundme to outbid which person supplies him.

The problem is that Manchin has as much power as he does. He represents under 2 million people.

West Virginians get about 22 times the level of Senate representation as Californians do.

And the House. And the Senate (kind of).

He's useful with regard to confirmations.

Which is essentially all the Senate does anymore.

The reality is that the Dems should be grateful that one sensible Dem is putting the brakes on some of their ludicrous bills and spending.
Manchin is not the bad guy here. Our country would be in far worse shape if the Dems got what they want.

He's sensible about who butters his bread. The energy industry gives more money to Manchin than it gives to ANY other politician.

Manchin does have a core ideology: it's coal and himself.

Looking like the Democrats may gain several Senate seats in the mid-terms. That will make Manchin irrelevant and no longer able to hold Senate Dems hostage.

Why be grateful? The reactionary does absolutely no good for the party. So I will keep on pointing the finger at him for being a traitor who cares not one bit about the country. That the President and rest of the party grovel at his feet is beyond obscene.

+💯 Not a DMVer— Manchin and his fake halo suck. Dems need to get their sh!t together and fight smarter and nastier. It’s why repubs hate AOC. She has a lot to learn, but she can make an old crusty white man cry, if they let her.
