Changed jobs twice in past 12 months...both wanted drug tests

The US is getting blanketed with fentanyl right now. Apparently we have enough to kill us all, thanks to the current open border policy.

My DS needed a drug test for his internship while in college.

Child’s tutor tells me he works with a few teachers who are regularly use cocaine and many have drinking issues. He also roomed with friends who are all professionals at an Airbnb for an out of town wedding and he said drug use was going on.

Never been drug tested for a job. What do they do about marijuana in states where it’s legal?

I wouldn’t want to have to disclose all my prescriptions to the company, so I would not pursue a job that required a drug test.

I accepted 2 job offers (first one needed an answer before second decided) and both asked for drug tests. I’m at the director level and have an MBA.


Anecdotally, I have seen significantly more drug use as I’ve climbed the corporate ladder. Cocaine is especially prevalent .

Son had to take test for summer internship this summer. I was hired at the same company over 30 years ago and no test required for a job as a lawyer. But I had to show that I was a US citizen. Things have really changed.

I have never had to take a drug test and probably wouldn't want to work somewhere it was required. Now that cannabis is more and more legal, it just seems beyond the pale.

Drug tests only screen out cannabis users who are likely not a problem while not catching cocaine users or alcoholics etc. Doesn’t make sense and it’s just another industry selling their snake oil to fearful and out of touch business owners.
