How to research more Covid cautious private schools?

We didn’t stay in fcps. We homeschooled. We want to have another option for next year. Just realizing it will not get better as we witness how they are unable to follow any common sense protocols when surges increase etc. and they no longer communicate close contacts etc. private schools have a little more flexibility so seeking new options.

I know nothing about private schools and options available. We are able to move anywhere in country. But prefer to stay in dmv. Welcome suggestions.

Don’t look at Catholic schools.

Thank you. Didn’t realize that. Appreciate it.

Look for vaccine requirements, I think that’s about all anyone will have by fall.

Thanks — any private schools you know that require that in our area?

Most of the DC privates do require vaccines. I’m not sure about those in NOVA. We similarly switched from
DCPS to private as wanted more consistency on Covid protocols and a smaller environment and have been pleased by the way they’ve been able to be a bit more nimble based on the numbers . We are mask optional noe but there been little to no social pressure on the choice and my kids are wearing masks in classes and it’s no big deal. Hearing similarly and as noted in this thread from friends at non-religious privates (can’t speak accurately to Catholics but my anecdotal impressions have been similar to PP)

I disagree with this. I have kids at a Catholic school in Arlington that has been pretty science-based with its requirements. But agree with PPs above that masks will probably be gone everywhere in the fall.

More importantly which schools will require a booster by fall. Without the booster requirement, schools are all equal.

Yes, like the public schools masks and vaccines are not required in most NOVA Catholic schools.

More cautious? WHAT? Op, vaccinate your kids and let them live life. People around here are just crazy.

Maybe post on the Health board, that should have ideas for the sickest and elderly to avoid infections and germs of all kinds. Or maybe even special sanitized boarding schools for immunization compromised students’ special needs.

Even Fauci said (this week) that the pandemic was over. Until he walked it back after a call from the WH.

Not really. Lack of booster doesn’t mean you are unprotected. Plus kids under 12 still can’t get boosters.

You can disagree all you want. My children are at a Catholic private in DC and had a teacher at school with symptoms. Turns out it was covid and email sent out stating “masks required for 10 days for close contact students.” Nearly half of those required to mask are not for the entirely of the day. No enforcement whatsoever.

People have been quadruple vaxed and are still getting it and you think a mask is going to protect you? Lol. If you’re that gullible, just home school your kid.
