I'm objectively a good cook and have won cooking competitions, so I don't think it was user error five different times. That was such a bummer.

Would love to know which ones these were!

Same here! But I've held onto it nonetheless...

I can't recall them all offhand, but I know one was a Chicken Barley from Nigella. I remembered when I read someone else made a terrible Nigella recipe! I wanted to love it, but it was weird and bland and looked like cat food.

Definitely this. Not for my hair texture at all. Gave it to someone with curly coarse hair who had more success. Made my straight hair look flat and awful.

That's a bummer; I know several people IRL who have used and loved it. Myself included.

Same. And I have thick, curly hair.

On a related note: coconut oil for vaginal itching.

I was going to jump in to say this. There is someone who posts frequently who promotes coconut oil for everything from head to toe. They're probably the same person who used to suggest tea tree oil for everything.

For me it was the chickpea stew by Allison something. Incredibly bland, and the turmeric permanently stained my countertops (my fault, but still annoying)

The one with two cans of coconut milk? That thing was a disaster.

I love this recipe! (and find the regular recipe pretty spicy, so sometimes i use fewer spices)

I don't understand you people, I love that thing. I look like a human now instead of a homeless frizz monster.

It gave me terrible fly-aways - I don't understand how it works for so many people.

+1 I need to buy extras for when mine dies. I don’t think I would ever like my hair as much without it.

After asking for recs on Ukrainian authors - buying the complete works of Isaac Babel. It is nearly 100 years old and over 1k pages. It did have very good reviews but too turgid for me. I will try again though.
