Worst ideas you have tried from DCUM

Anonymous
I love to read and at some point folks on DCUM recommended the Peloton Mom's Book facebook group. I joined and it is so not the group for me! These people seem to read pure trash and the iq level seems low overall. I was so disappointed as I had hoped to find a community of like-minded people. Just clearly didn't hit the mark for me!

What advice/idea have you been given on DCUM that was a total dud?

That Nigella Lawson recipe for some kind of anchovy pasta dish. I swear I read about it here, followed it precisely, and it was absolutely awful. I will never make another one of her recipes.

Intermittent fasting. I saw quickly that it was a one way ticket to an eating disorder.

For me it was the chickpea stew by Allison something. Incredibly bland, and the turmeric permanently stained my countertops (my fault, but still annoying)

Absolutely! I’ve had enough sense not to follow any of it. Generally the advice is not to seek help from financial experts.

That revlon hair dryer. Didn’t work for me!

That's a bummer; I know several people IRL who have used and loved it. Myself included.

There was a recent-ish thread about people's go-to weeknight dinner meals. I did an entire week of meals for my family using those recipe ideas, and we all hated every single one. I'm objectively a good cook and have won cooking competitions, so I don't think it was user error five different times. That was such a bummer.

On a related note: coconut oil for vaginal itching.

The one with two cans of coconut milk? That thing was a disaster.
