+1. I’m glad Bellichcik inadvertently exposed the Rooney Rule for the farce that it is. |
| Kids went to jail during the NYC point shaving scandals. Ross bribing a coach to throw games is not nothing |
Could you give a cite on this? I'd like to read about it |
DP. Why do you think there are no, in your apparent opinion, “bankable” black coaches in the NFL? |
I think it’s a stretch to tie this to gambling. It’s pretty obvious Ross wanted this to secure a better draft position. |

The reason doesn't matter as far as image is concerned. The NFL is choosing to embrace gambling and a fundamental premise of sports gambling is that the games are fair. An owner bribing a coach to loose is at best a terrible look. |
I didn't say that. If there are - I'm sure they're highly desired these days. Name one with a winning record who has been denied consideration. |
Got anything more recent than 1951? |
|
You're conflating the Rooney rule with the cheating. I think the suit has more than one allegation. |
Seriously? Just look at the allegations of Flores’ complaint. He had a successful career in a number of roles with the Patriots, but after that he gets only sgam interviews with the Giants and the Broncos to satisfy the Rooney rule and then gets hired by the Dolphins to be a patsy. Instead he puts together back-to-back winning seasons for the team for the first time since 2003, and is promptly fired for failure to perform to expectations. |
Well there it is. The reason. And you're speculating the same thing wouldn't have happened to a white coach? Gonna be very difficult proving that in court. |
+1. NFL owners take chances on white coaches with little or no experience. You can't tell me that there isn't a single black person capable of coaching in the NFL. |
One doesn’t necessarily have to do with the other, but all of the shit is going to come out of the bag. |
