| He spoke on getting vaxxed, wearing a mask, and efforts centered on getting rapid tests and covid pill into Maryland at a faster rate. He also thanked nurses and healthcare workers for their tireless and selfless efforts. Stay Maryland strong! |
I think that's another news thing he did recently. Why the surprise, PP? Hogan refuses to enforce restrictions. Of course we're in for it. And he's actually telling us that he won't implement restrictions, and that we'll suffer for it. |
lol and very quiet about the state of schools.... |
Right? If these are going to be the worst weeks bc it’s much more contagious- how does lunch happen safely? Spaced out indoor lunch with omicron doesn’t mitigate risk. |
FYI, the emergency declaration PROTECTS HOSPITALS FROM BEING SUED FOR ADVERSE OUTCOMES, because they are operating at catastrophic standards. This was a request from hospitals themselves, who know they cannot provide adequate care. This affects you and me if we get into a car accident on icy roads, for example, or have a heart attack or stroke. Hogan refuses to put in place measures that could reduce the number of people flooding hospitals, and this is one of the consequences. He is acting extremely irresponsibly. |
| Is that Bob Odenkirk as the ASL interpreter? (Better Call Saul?) |
You are awesome

| Strongly encouraging everyone to wear the damn mask but will not issue a mandate (or force businesses to mandate/enforce masks). |
|
There are things you can do -- it doesn't have to be school shutdowns. But something?

| I'd like an administrative order that bars, movie theaters, gyms, etc. must close before any school closes. |
|
I want everything shut down EXCEPT schools.
That would help drive home to the people who are out partying how serious this is. We also need a temporary resumption of some emergency benefits |
|
When asked about schools he said that overall, "The kids are doing pretty well." "Some are virtual but kids are safer in schools."
*distinct coughing heard in the background of presser* He prepares everyone for a Presidential presser later today. |
I'm the PP who wrote the above. To be clear, I couldn't care less what part of the political spectrum he's on. I am merely commenting on the fact that he's not, actually, that great at taking care of his constituents. A lot of it seems to be pretending to care... |
| Among other things, the emergency declaration formally loosens the accounting of student absences for those of us in MCPS. Maybe other counties as well? |
