Lehigh Vibes

The town is pretty sketchy but the campus itself is nice. When we toured the students seemed very happy and engaged. I’d certainly prefer to Lehigh to a more isolated campus line Bucknell or Colgate. Take a look at at Lafayette as wellZ

Our friend hires from Lehigh regularly and recommends the school to everyone our network whose kids are applying to college.

Lehigh students are required to live on campus for two years. The freshman dorms are standard dorms…doubles with hall bathrooms. For upperclassmen, they offer apartment and suite style living and just completed brand new suite style sophomore dorms last spring. Sophomores who are in a sorority or fraternity live in their respective greek houses on campus, as do some juniors. Juniors and seniors who want on campus housing have no issue getting it, even though it’s not guaranteed. There is plenty. For off campus housing, everything is within a very short walking distance and there are two student-only apartment buildings that are only a few years old and many students choose to live in row houses with friends.

The only dorms that some people complain about are the original dorms, Dravo, Drinker, and Richards, but most of the complaining is done by parents and students are excited to be in the gorgeous hogwarts type dorms with larger rooms and a view of the entire Lehigh Valley. Taylor is another original dorm, but it has been renovated with air conditioning and mostly houses the engineering learning community each year.

This is the reason Lehigh should be ranked higher. These kids all come out with high paying jobs. My kid is a junior and almost every single person he knows has an internship in NYC next summer, some of which have been lined up for over a year now. The Lehigh alums come to campus to recruit and pull the Lehigh students right in. You can see a small subset of internships and job offers on the lehighuwest Instagram page, as they post some of the accomplishments of the students that have been involved in their programs.

Yes, but same can be said for Lafayette, F&M, Bucknell, etc. It is in large part because the alum network from these colleges is regional/strong in the NYC (in particular, finance) community.

Honestly it sounded like the original poster was implying there was a SUNY school next door to Lehigh..but that is not what they meant apparently...misunderstanding

There is nothing “sketchy” about Bethlehem and Bucknell is not “isolated.” You need to leave your gated suburban McMansion once in awhile, pp
