| Robert White supported delaying school reopening. If the VA gov race is any indication, people were pretty pissed about the slow speed of school reopening. I would expect there to be people in DC who also express their anger about that by not supporting R. White. |
This. Robert White in WTU's pocket and has advocated many times for policies to prioritize teachers' desires at the expense of children's needs. He's also very deceitful and tries to pass himself off as some sort of advocate for children when he's really screwing them over. I'm hard pressed to think of a worse mayoral candidate, even including the anti-semitic nitwit. |
Developers normally get around contribution limits by donating from multiple LLCs. Each of their projects normally has its own LLC so if they have five projects, they make five contributions plus personal contributions. With public financing, corporations can't contribute. So developers can only make personal contributions. Of course, they will make one for themselves, their spouse, any kids that are over 21, etc. But, it will still almost certainly be less than $1,000 which is far less than the $2,500 they used to give for each LLC. |
Single issue voter on schools. Bowser failed so miserably at Deal For All that it's been completely memory holed, but she's still better on education than White. |
| I'll be voting for Bowser because at least she's trying to course correct and up funding for MPD. Every other nitwit running wants even fewer police. She's the least bad of a bunch of terrible options. |
Yes, this is my second priority (after education) and Bowser is the least terrible option. |
|
I am tempted to not vote for Bowser just to punish her for her stupid stance on not allowing gyms to have a vaccination mandate an no mask mandate.
But in my wildest dreams, I can't imagine any of the other candidates being different. |
"I'm the least terrible option" should be Bowser's campaign slogan. It's the reason she'll probably win another term. |
| If these are the choices, I will have to hold my nose and vote Bowser. Or write someone in. Are there any independents in the race at the moment? |
Either Bowser, R. White, or T. White will win, so think carefully about which would be the best outcome for you and vote for that candidate. How would you feel if you wrote in someone and R. White or T. White won by a narrow margin? I'm voting for Bowser because IMO the other two candidates would be really awful. |
This. All of it really. Bowser is unfortunately the most moderate and sensible candidate we're going to get in DC. |
Or if you don’t like Bowser you could…vote for someone else in the next election, which is what this thread is about? Why do people jump to leaving as the only recourse when you don’t like something? |
I'd like to see someone draw out a path to victory for Trayon White. Pretty much all of DC minus the southern portion of Ward 8 (anyone north of Good Hope Road doesn't much care for him) sees him for what he is: an ignorant racist. |
+2 Voting for Bowser in the primary because she is by far the most moderate candidate on the Dem side. Trayon White's stupidity scares me to my core. Like Election Night 2016 PTSD all over again. However, if there's a solid Independent candidate in the General Election, I'd be happy to vote for them in November and deny Bowser my vote. I've encouraged my RINO and Independent friends in DC to change their registration to Democrat to have a voice in the city's real election - the primary. But they are too wedded to their own identity politics to make the strategic switch. Dumb dumbs. |
Because the alternatives are worse. |
