I mean she has to uses public financing now that Robert White because the first candidate for mayor to do so. Do you think this will help or hurt Bowser?

Place your early bets here.

One of the most common criticisms of Bowser has been her reliance on developer money. This basically makes that a nonissue. So, in that regard it should help her. But, it probably only helps her with good-government, pinko commies like me.

I would agree 100% with this. I was not expecting it. But can’t developers still donate in smaller increments multiple times? I’m not sure how it works in DC.

I'm no Bowser fan, but I get the feeling she's more popular than she appears to be if you only read message boards and comment sections. None of the scandals -- her hand-picked DCPS commissioner blatantly flouting the lottery for his daughter (and Bowser almost certainly approving of it); her attempt to enrich her developer donors with the homeless-shelter initiative; her utter ineptitude with handling the vaccine rollout -- seem to stick to her.

And I'm not sure Robert White can differentiate himself enough to make much of a difference (I'm not even addressing the anti-Semite who's running, because I don't believe his is a serious candidacy but rather an idiot's delusion of grandeur).

She's the incumbent and Robert White basically is offering nothing new. Bowser isn't hated so I don't see her losing.

Well, she's hated by me, so that's one vote for Robert White

She's terrible and will cruise to victory, which is fine with me.

While there is no chance any of her opponents will be better, there is a very good chance they will be worse.

I think 8 years is enough. The city has enough issues and as a two term incumbent, she hasn't addressed them adequately.

Time for someone new and put the "green team" to bed.

This. I think the people who just want "something new" or to "shake things up" don't have a very good grasp of just how much worse we've had it and how much worse it can get. I'm not a Bowser fan, but in this race she's the least awful option.

Depends on the candidate. I think Robert White has a lot of experience and practical solutions in his agenda.

Whatever. You all will complain about anything meanwhile taking full advantage of the Paid Leave and Free Pre-School that the city offers. We're the only state in the country which has both. Meanwhile NOVA next door just roundly slammed the door on both proposals from a VA Governor and time-traveled back to the 1960s.

If you don't like Bowser, you are welcome to go move to Hogan and Youngkin territory.

Vincent Gray provided free PK-3 when he was the mayor, not Bowser.

Did I say she provided free PK-3? The city has awesome programs and initiatives spearheaded by a succession of excellent mayors including Bowser.

Regarding education (one of my personal top priorities), he has approximately zero new proposals, and the ones he does have are marginal.
