http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-26644085 Frustration with the search for missing flight MH370 boiled over into chaotic scenes as Chinese relatives were dragged away from journalists. They were attempting to speak to Chinese journalists outside the daily press conference in Kuala Lumpur. A BBC reporter was pushed away from the relatives, who were carrying banners criticising the handling of the case. |
Other than the deliberate turns, this supports mechanical failure and possible depressurization. |
- except that the "waypoints" had to be intetionally entered by someone on the plane. I am not a pilot. But the NYT had a piece by a pilot who flys that exact same type of plane. They explained its highly unlikely anyone other than another pilot - an experienced pilot familiar with that type of plane - would be able to navigate using thoe waypoints. It is NOT a skill you could learn on a flight simulator. And it cannot be done by accidentally bumping into a control button or something. From above: "0215 - Malaysia military loses radar contact with with is believed to be the MH370 in the south part of the Andaman Sea. Malayisa confirms that prior to 0125 the plane made a series of deliberate sharp turns navigating by waypoints " |
Oops, I realize I have a typo. 0215 - Malaysia military loses radar contact with with is believed to be the MH370 in the south part of the Andaman Sea. Malaysia confirms that prior to 0215 (not 0125) the plane made a series of deliberate sharp turns navigating by waypoints |
The only known "basic fact" is that the plane is missing. Everything else is just noise, including all 99 pages here. |
Anyone get the feeling that Malaysia is not being very forth coming on the facts? They seemed to very reluctantly agree to a fact long after it has been proven... |
What "fact" has been proven? The only thing that we know with real certainty, is that a plane is missing. |
I read that there was a question in today's press conference, asking the officials to confirm that these deliberate turns had taken place and the officials sidestepped the question |
It seems based on the current search actions that they think the plane flew south and crashed into the ocean when it ran out of fuel. |
With satellite data, they know the plane diverted. Either that was done as part of or due to a mechanical problem or was done intentionally by someone who was familiar with flying commercially. |
The Malaysian officials at the press conference today sidestepped almost all the questions. It seems the only piece of data anyone trusts anymore is the last satellite ping; hence, the search off Australia in the Southern Indian Ocean. This is a true mystery - not many of those left anymore. |
Israel is beefing up security out of fear the plane will be used as a weapon of mass destruction against them.
I think there is probably a whole lot of information that has not come out yet because they don't want to compromise the investigation. I wish I were not so obsessed with this story. |

"New" information from the Malaysian government. I'm convinced they (and the US) know what happened to this plane and that it landed intact somewhere. |
Yes of course! Because you really need to "beef up" your defense against a commercial airplane. ![]() |
