ICYMI: MoCo, MD has a relatively invisible epidemic of Latina teens going missing.

Follow MoCo Show and MCPD (local police) and you’ll quickly notice that 15 year old Latinas go missing each week and seemingly just disappear.

Long story short: trafficking.

^^^
This is a very real, very horrific byproduct of the shifting demographics in MoCo.

Sometimes they are kidnapped because they ran afoul of the gang. In the US, MS13 has many female gang leaders (this is forbidden in Salvador but is not uncommon here) and they target girls the same as boys.

Whatever the reason, it’s a horrific tragedy and it’s a relatively new develop in our community thanks to a crime culture that has been thrust upon us and is quickly establishing roots in certain zip codes.

I’m just shocked the WaPo hasn’t tackled this.

Follow MCPD for a month and you’ll understand the crisis.

Why are you shocked WaPo hasn't tackled this? There's a lot they don't tackle because it's inconvenient to a certain side's narrative.

Ok.

Then how about Fox News?

Or Mother Jones (from an anti-trafficking, pro-woman perspective)?

Entire zip codes in the dc metro area have quickly transitioned to crime havens. Schools are impacted on multiple fronts (see the mcps forum thread on chronic absenteeism featuring data from ten years ago vs now). Read the crime statistics for our area.

I’m in favor of legal immigration, but I’m troubled by the impact of illegal immigration.

We all know that far left progressives like Mother Jones do not care about women’s safety issues.

What exactly hasn't WAPO tackled? I googled "human trafficking" and washingtonpost.com and got a lot of hits.

What's going on is purposeful. It's the executive branch getting around the codified law of the legislative branch because of an ideology. This is the DNC enforcing their agenda through the government and undermining U.S. law to reach an outcome.

Tell me you don't see that? Do you really believe this is not done on purpose?

Why. Why would they do this on purpose? What is the outcome they are trying to reach?

The outcome is always about one thing. MONEY. for certain groups and individuals. EVERYTHING is about money.

You now have tax payers paying part of their disposable income to the state to pay for housing and shelter (hotels), food, clothing, transportation. Those income streams to those organizations are now guaranteed given the problem created.

Another group gets the "browning of America" they want so badly because they're constantly spun up about colonialism. Who benefits from that? Organizations (media outlets, social media, advertising, telecom) who broadcast that message. Money for airtime. Money for an agenda. An ideology. If it has drawbacks, they just dampen and quiet those points while touting all the benefits. And they have a willing group to put their head down and march forward and call anyone who doesn't agree that magic word...racist! That stops all discussion and dissent.

Do you really think this is about altruism? Please.

Human trafficking in MoCo and all the missing Latina teens??? The girls who go missing each week??? Connecting the dots to the growing criminal element??? Discussing how first and second generation Latinos are moving out of certain areas since they are now being overrun with the criminal elements they thought they left behind when they crossed the border???

Please link these articles.

This hypothesis of yours could be made about anything. Next do abortion, fossil fuels, Citizens United, the wall builders, companies that create demand for illegal labor, people who want to dumb down education.... Connect all those to MONEY. Because it could be done if you wanted to apply your mental effort to it.

Even IF I accept your hypothesis, do you think that this administration is unique in taking money for x, y z objectives? Oh but the last POTUS was clean?

So what you really mean is you want an administration that takes money for the things you approve of but not one that takes money to house and feed immigrants? You're OK with a fake WMD campaign.war which was all about MONEY but immigration, well that's different.

I am not saying you are wrong, or right. I'm saying that the media organizations that are making the money off this are the ones that are intentionally scaring the cr*p out of people like you by pointing your outrage in one particular direction while ignoring other serious problems.

This guy was an anti-immigration dem, a rabid environmentalist. And he's not putting this forward as a "plan to destroy America"; he's criticizing immigration/multiculturalism. He has a history of anti-minority comments too.

But nice scare tactic!

As a Republican, I totally understood your point.
And, the truth is....... the left is following his plan as if it is a playbook, not a warning.

You are attributing a lot of things to me I never said.

Did I say the last POTUS was clean? No, I didn't.

Did I say this admin is unique in taking money for x, y, z objectives? No, I didn't.

What I really mean is "want an administration that takes money for the things you approve of but not one that takes money to house and feed immigrants?". No, that's not what I meant.

What I want is an administration that follows the rule of law and doesn't just enforce certain laws to fit its agenda. I want an administration that respects the Separation of Powers.

In case you didn't get this in school - the Executive Branch ENFORCES laws. That goes along with the Equal Protection Clause. Got it?

Are you telling me you support Law of the Jungle? That's a yes or no question.

No. My point is I believe you are engaged in selective outrage. And your answer to the question of, "when is the last time we had an honest potus/administration" I think would be very telling.

(OP here)

Thank you to each & every person who has contributed to this thread. Please keep the discussion alive. TIA

Consider watching this 93 minute movie on Netflix: 7 Prisoners (Brazil) Released in 2021. Great reviews, although there is a point at which some consider turning it off, but it picks up again.

This type of human trafficking is happening in many South American countries--and possibly in the US as well.

Watch the movie, then read the interpretive reviews.

Should make every viewer cherish America.

Again, thank you to every poster & reader of this thread. This is an important issue & DCUM readers & posters have a lot of intelligent thoughts to share.

I'm not engaged in selective outrage. This thread is about controlling the borders. I'm telling you why it isn't being done.

Stop being an apologist for the current ON THE GROUND/IN REAL LIFE behavior that's taking place.

I think people also understate that the federal government wants uncontrolled immigration because it is conceivably a path to future revenues to service the debt. There would be no need for absolute population growth without ever increasing debt.
