Have you spent any amount of time with drug addicts???? I have. Everything that Amber explained about JPs behavior, the ups and downs, the foggy memory, his bizzare behavior (dissapearing, mood swings), etc. CLASSIC behavior of an addict. Which he has admitted to that and has been in rehab for.

The people that work FOR him, knew him like that....so, sadly, his behavior wasn't shocking to them.

Was she a bit crazy then?, yes, a liar about she lived with him? No. She was in her mid 20s dealing with an old drug addict. He's gross.

Not the PP, but I have spent a lot of time around drug addicts and unfortunately have 3 close family members who suffer from addiction (one active, two in recovery). She is very believable when she speaks about his addiction. However, when she starts talking about him physically abusing her, that’s when she starts really over acting and becomes unbelievable. Let us not forget she is abusive towards him physically and emotionally. Almost every tape I heard with her speaking to Johnny Depp, she sounds hammered. They are both screwed up, he is an addict and has admitted to it, but she is trying to coming off like little miss perfect.

Some people have said that she also had a substance abuse problem- that was not really developed in testimony. Maybe it is coming in crossexam.

Maybe it wasn't clear to you, because she keeps minimizing it. Ecstasy as a "lovey drug", "hating" cocaine, taking a couple of mushrooms that "never really really kicked in"...

My sibling died from addiction in their late 30s. BTDT.

But they weren’t violent or abusive. Addicts tend to be annoying, not violent. They say crazy things, but they typically aren’t equipped to be physically abusive—particularly when they are passed out.

I think Amber saw an easy mark and had an exit plan in mind when she married him. She wanted access to powerful people to get famous. Check! But she had no intention of staying with him. I think she fueled his addiction and pushed boundaries precisely to build a case to support her exit. It worked.

Once he got cleaned up, he and his inner circle realized she played him.

That’s why he’s still fighting in court.

Here’s the thing: he was a functional addict. Not perfect, but still functional. His career was ruined by her allegations of abuse.

I think she’s evil.

As someone who also has experience with addicts, I agree 100%.
She absolutely saw an easy mark and had an exit plan in mind the she married him. And we all know that person who loves more has less power.

Seriously? So stupid.

I hope the jury is seeing through her terrible acting. She played JD and is twisting his words. Him telling her she didn't have to work or not take movies where she's naked isn't him being controlling. It's him being caring--if only a bit patronizing. He wanted to help her.

Plus all the staff who testified about how much she drank.

Amazingly, when she took drugs, she never felt the effects. Why take them, then, and make them a central part of her wedding?

Media headlines are eviscerating him. I have to wonder if the reporters have watched a substantial part of the trial, or if they just don't care.

Is there any evidence of him physically abusing her? I know there is evidence of her confessing to hitting him, and evidence of her verbal abuse of him, as well as mocking him when passed out with photos of him at his lowest, often staging the scene in embarrassing ways (ie: the ice cream).

Her demeanor here testifying is completely different than it was in her deposition or in that Overhauled video on YouTube where she is punked about her car. I wonder if she will be able to maintain composure on cross.

Is there some reason why he needs to have physically abused her when there is ample evidence of emotional abuse?

There’s also ample evidence of her abusive behavior.

She’s not a victim.

At best they are both toxic, damaged people.

But I’m leaning towards her being on a mission to get married, get famous, then get out with millions. She was on a mission to come out on top. She couldn’t do that without taking him down.

PP here. I agree with you. However, she was just 22 when he began seducing her. I don't think she's evil but she's probably sober now as well and feels disgusted.

He made his bed and now has to lay on it!

+2 Addiction/substance abuse runs in my close family as well (including 2 siblings), Johnny is definitely an addict but he's also a victim. AH is not.

Was her article not suggestive of physical violence? That's the subject of the lawsuit. It's an almost impossible lawsuit for him to win in any event, because of the nature of it - he has to prove he didn't do something, in order to provide she lied about it. Proving a negative (that you didn't do something) is extremely challenging. I'm not sure that "there's no evidence" would get him there, because that doesn't also prove that he didn't do it. However, if there's no evidence, then certainly it goes a long way. Also, even with a claim of emotional abuse, I'm finding what's been released of her treatment of him is so far MUCH worse than anything I've seen him say or do directly to her. That's why I'm asking. It'd honestly be much easier to stomach if there's actual evidence of his direct mistreatment of her. I haven't seen it...
