2021 VA Governors race

Personally, I will vote for Youngkin (R), abstain from voting for Lt. Governor (both are unqualified lightweights), vote for Herring (D) for Attorney General, and vote for my incumbent member of the House of Delegates (D).

McAuliffe has always struck me as extremely sleazy and the fact that his election would guarantee more limousine liberal pandering to the far-left is a deal-killer for me.

If he wins and the Democrats continue to push Virginia to the far left, and tolerate the further rejection of merit and dumbing down of public schools, we will move to a more moderate state.

Ah the old Divided government then gripe when nothing gets done.

Youngkin

if we had fewer republican governors, president, and less right-wing, republica supporting TV hosts and news outlets we would not still be in this s$it with raging virus and facing a winter with 70millions of unvaccinated idiots ready to start the next wave

Exactly. We’ve had a vaccine for 10 months now. Everyone should be vaccinated by now.

WTF is wrong with Republicans trying to dissuade people from getting vaccinated. Why are they dragging this on? They are using this as a political game? We are ALL ready to move on. Why has the GOP been politicizing a freaking pandemic? It’s disgusting.

The majority of of Republicans I know are vaccinated and by now those that want it have received it. Don't assume that all those unvaccinated don't have natural immunity protection since so many have already had the virus.

I don't know anyone who has died from Covid but I do know people who have died from the vaccine and young teens that have had myocarditis.

Please stop with the BS. No one except those who have fallen deep down the facebook rabbit hole believes this. Just STFU.

There is zero excuse for anyone to dissuade people from getting vaccinated.

Period.

please provide a link to support the theory that Youngkin is discouraging vaccination? Every thing I have heard him say is that he is vaccinated and he encourages others to get vaccinated.

That is no excuse for the GOP's behavior.

The GOP - including Youngkin - are still actively trying to dissuade people from getting vaccinated. They should be pushing vaccinations and stop playing these games.

Have to correct you here. I've heard Youngkin say over and over again every time this comes up. He is fully vaccinated and he encourages people to get the vaccine, however he is not going to force someone to get it if they don't think it's for them.

The problem with Youngkin is that he isn't always honest.

Here he is actively telling college students to opt-out of the vaccine for "whatever reason":

And here he is explaining how he does what he says what he needs to say so he can get the votes.

““I’m going to be really honest with you,” Mr Youngkin says. “The short answer is in this campaign, I can’t. When I’m governor and I have a majority in the House, we can start going on offense. But as a campaign topic, sadly, that in fact won’t win my independent votes that I have to get.””

Some might argue that nothing changing is better than stuff that does change (either to the "right", or to the "left")!

I’m not on Facebook and I believe it. Also, we are vaccinated Republicans (my family). My best friend is an unvaccinated dem. She told me she will not be taking the vaccine. I told her that I’m glad she has that choice. I took the vaccine back in February because I want the pandemic over. I don’t believe in mandating this and banning that. Let people decide for themselves. You decide what’s right for your family and I’ll decide what’s right for mine.

I may also abstain from Lt Gov.

That's fine with me as long as you stay in your house and don't infect others.

Please link to any verified cases of deaths attributed to the vaccine. What I see is no cases of deaths for Pfizer and Moderna, and three deaths from blood clots following the for J & J (not clear they were directly caused by the vaccine) out of more than 350 administered. I do personally know of people who died from Covid, including three unvaccinated friends/neighbors of my mother which occurred recently in a rural area in southern Virginia.

that should be more than 350 million vaccine doses administered.

Youngkin is spreading the Big LIe.

100% he is a liar. There is zero evidence zero that there was fraud.

He knows he can not win without lying.

Voting for him means you are voting for a guy that does not believe in our election processes.

If a King of VA is what you want then by all means vote for the Lying Traitor otherwise use your brain and do not vote for him.

This is only about Democracy either you are for it or against it.

If he wins VA God help us.

How is “school closures” even a concern now in Oct 2021?

Just look at this forum and see how many are calling for closures.
There will always be another variant or some cases to latch on to as an excuse to close.
Without the law that is only in effect for one year, I think more school districts will be closing in 2022-2023.
