The entire thread disappeared for a while. But discussing that would be off topic. I recommend you start a topic in the Off Topic forum to ask Jeff.

This.

I can't believe such an important issue would be suppressed.

Apparently, a potentially fake hate crime that simply *might* impact white Republicans is the greatest injustice out there. *This* is the only time white folks speak up. Not when black (or other) children are wrongfully killed by police. Not when the state is abusing its power. Sh*t, not even re: CPD’s perpetual incompetence on any investigating local crime. CPD when out of their way to be fully transparent to appease white ppl. You think the families of black victims locally are getting that treatment?

Truth of the matter is, Jussie’s crime of falsely blaming white ppl is as much of sin to many white ppl as murder. America in a nutshell. The browning of America can’t come soon enough.

You are an utter imbecile.

Breaking: City of Chicago legal dept. asks for $130,000 from Jussie Smollett. Far more than the $10,000 he offered up.

Pay up, Jussie.
Stuffing envelopes for Jessie Jackson doesn’t count.

Why did they spend overtime hours on what should have been a routine case covered with pre-existing resources? Let alone $130,000? Particularly when Chicago has so much other important crime to deal with? How exactly did they manage to spend a whole $130,000 in the span of the 2 weeks or so that this case was out there?

If I were a Chicago taxpayer I would be pretty damn mad at the Chicago police right now.

$130,000 is peanuts for overtime considering the number of people they had working this case. In actuality, Jussie cost them a lot more than mere overtime.
I think the Chicago people are mad at Jussie for perpetrating this hoax, thus diverting resources from where they should have been.

Chicago spent it because it was originally a high profile heinous hate crime - there was a lot of pressure on them to make sure they found the MAGA perps....

Because if they didn't make progress PDQ, it was going to the FBI. And who knows how long that would drag on. Or what FBI would determine. They are still looking into the mysterious envelopes. Occam's razor tells me those envelopes have a local source.

Well, Auntie Maxine, always the voice of reason, thinks justice has been served.

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/maxine-waters-jussie-smollett-charges-dropped-correct/

“It’s the correct thing that the charges were dropped,” Waters told Extra in a Sunday interview. “First of all, we probably will never know all of the details. We’ve heard a lot of information. No one was hurt — that is, physically, killed, shot — he never committed a crime before, he forfeited the bail, and it’s this kind of situation where they close the case all over the country every day. I have learned this isn’t unusual.”

She says Jussie is like a son to her. How sweet.

He does have a DUI on his record. And, giving a false identity. So, her statement is actually not correct. But, what can you expect from Auntie Maxine?

Or, Jesse, according to Chris Rock. "The "u" is for respect. He don't deserve no respect."
