Looks like a lot of 05 and 06 players looking around at DA’s. Will Spirit have invite only sessions after the open ID or just make offers? Seems like they would want to put all players they are considering together to see how they look, especially at 06 level where they are starting from scratch. |
That's one of the flaws in the system. They want you to commit to a team and you have no clue who is on it until you comitted. One big leap of faith. That's why the parent network needs to be strong. SHARE Information. |
Readers of DCUM, offers have been made...They are not going to withdraw these if someone better shows up today. ...They are managing the numbers and have slots. ....The details and coaching assignments are being finalized into those offers so that they can be accepted by players as soon as next week.....Yes you should still show up today and I highly doubt there will be more invite-only sessions for the group at large if offers can start being accepted next week for 06s, 05s, etc.... Good luck to all. Sincerely, An informed parent. |
....This is not Washington Spirit, so who said this, FCV or ASA? |
Just did....This looks to be the last big ID session at Spirit if Arlington or FCV are deciding next week...Not sure why any club tells kids next week to go tryout elsewhere...Sounds bogus... DAs will be done and not taking leftovers at that point....Maybe they mean the ECNL? ...Would think a club would instead tell these players to tryout for B team, or maybe be a DP if a bubble girl. ... My 2 cents |
Arlington said they would be having invite only sessions, not sure when, I assume this upcoming week or next? Anyone get an invite for DD? |
I shall try this again.
A local DA has told their current roster of players that they would know by the end of April whether they should look at other options. They are given this curtosey so they don't miss out completely on the tryout season and maybe find a better fit elsewhere. It's actually a nice thing to do rather then screwing a kid over for next year. All DAs follow the same timeline because they are governed by USSF. ID sessions are coming to an end. Offers are going out soon. If a kid accepts an offer for an existing team that means someone from the existing team must go because rosters are already at max. So yes, the bottom 25 percent of any roster are always on the chopping block. It all depends on who shows up and accepts offers. |
As PP noted, the player movement has been small, so I am curious why you think they would they be having more sessions and what would be left to do? From someone whose DD went last week and saw mainly Arlington jerseys, I heard all they really need to do is refine the Red teams and a few outsiders into a DA roster; for 13U, this would be refining the Red and White 1st and 2nd teams. DD is trying our for local ECNL next month, but I know this player does not have an offer from Arlington and doesn't know when they will go out either. |
+1 Thank you. This sounds like FCV or WS, as Arl. has no existing rosters. If 25% are on "the chopping block," this is probably FCV more likely then it would be WS. Agree that it is all coming to an end next week. |
WS bottom on chopping block as well. There is movment among Mclean ECNL 04 and below kids. There best kids would bump Spirit bottom kids.
Some Mclean also at FCV..secretly..could displace some FCV kids who will in turn try to grab a roster spot at Spirit. Displaced kids will also try their hand at local ECNL clubs. Best thing a club can do is be transparent so the kids can find a home that fits their needs. |
Shhh, don’t tell Loudoun Dad that McLean kids will displace some DA kids and that those DA “castoffs” will then go to ECNL clubs. That would ruin his narrative of ECNL winning. |
Must be talking about FCV or ASA. Spirit hasn't sent offers even to players I know for a fact Spirit wants no matter what. |
Best believe that of a stud shows up that stud will get a offer and remove a kid from a CURRENT team roster. 05 and 06s are new teams. Thats completely dofferent. There are EXISTING ROSTER SPOTS UP FOR GRABS. 04 and above..... |
^^^
Bottom 25% are always on the chopping block of any team in any league at any time. That said, Spirit has some clear studs rostered already. And if you don't know that, then you haven't seen enough - or are knowledgeable enough to comment. There are also weak players as well - no one is denying that and Spirit already said that some players will be cut (though to my knowledge, they haven't specifically told them). Some players who aren't at that level already realized it for themselves (or their families did) and have already chosen not to even try to return. |
^^ OP was asking about 05s and 06s only. Those are new teams. Offers given already. |
