Option H is permanent and the old Wootton HS campus will be closed for good?

You need to get a life. Fantasizing others suffer is just evil.

Going to Gaithersburg HS is "suffering"?

Sounds like we need more people with money to have a stake in the game.

Forcing students to be bused miles away from a high-performing, stable school to a lower-performing school is no harm? Longer commutes, disruption to their coursework and supporting peers are real impact on our children.

It will be good for them to get out of their country club bubble wrapped existence.

I don’t think you have ever actually been to a Wootton neighborhood. Because I have lived in one for 10 years and don’t know a single family who is privileged the way you think they are. And I certainly don’t know anyone in my neighborhood who belongs to a country club. I really think you must have us confused with Whitman or private schools.

If your response to attending a HS 3 miles away is "Fantasizing others suffer is just evil".... you need to get out more. Your kids will benefit. Exploring their world more than 2 miles beyond their home might give them an awesome college essay topic.

And Lakewood Country Club is right by Wootton.

Wootton HS to Gaithersburg HS is 6.6 miles. Not 3 miles.
If your school district has a country club, it means people in that school all go to country club? There are many country clubs across the county.

Seriously don’t bother-I don’t even think the pp you are responding to even lives in Montgomery County at this point. “Lakewood country club is right by Wootton.” Possibly one of the stupidest comments I have seen on this thread. I saw a Porsche parked at the Costco in Gaithersburg the other day so that must mean everyone near that area drives a Porsche huh?

Whether the trolls in this thread live in Montgomery County or not, one thing is certain,: They are not commenting because any of this would benefit them, rather it is the pulling down of others that they want. This is a so called "level playing field". However while these people might be commenting on areas that should not interest them, the Wootton community should be interested and there are still many in the community oblivious to the details and a general feeling amongst some that this will go away like it has in the past. Further, I truly believe that the BOE would win hypothetical elections if held today, amongst Wootton parents only. If you doubt the later, please consider that they would all receive sample ballots which would be marked with the preferred candidate

They'd be bused to Crown anyway.

What about the kids that currently go to Gaithersburg?

Wootton and Gaithersburg are not that close. Current kids going to Gaithersburg is closer and by choice

"By choice."? What do you mean by that? You don't get to pick your school.

Wootton and Gaithersburg HS are only 4 miles from each other.

If you are buying an 800k or more house you are privileged.

We'd be missing a huge opportunity if we don't redistribute between Wootton and adjacent schools.

Ok? Not the point or what they’d do. Crown is a wealthy area.

Seems you don’t know where both schools located. It’s 6.6 miles by Google map

Check again. Go by actual distance, not directions.

It's hard to redraw boundaries. This is a natural time to do so. If you're not within the walk zone to the new school, careful consideration should be given to reassigning to an adjacent school.

People pay hundreds of thousands and live in much smaller houses than they would otherwise to be close to schools. This is reality you can go into Zillow or redfin. Take Urbana for example. Houses around Urbana HS are much smaller and cost much more than ones even a mile or two away.

We happen to be shopping for house now. This is the reality. House half a mile from the schools costs the same as one two miles from the schools but is older, half as big, smaller lot, etc.
