US has no good options in Ukraine

Seems like plenty of blame to go around.

Decisions by American presidents of both parties set the stage. President Barack Obama declined to provide any lethal aid after Crimea fell in 2014, rejecting the recommendations of his most senior national security officials. President Donald Trump signed off on the provision of Javelin anti-tank missiles only after delaying the aid package in an act that led to his impeachment. He didn’t provide air defense.

The Biden administration has been accused of being slow to act as well. By the time U.S. intelligence agencies concluded six months ago that Russia was planning for a possible invasion, there wasn’t enough time to train the Ukrainians to operate sophisticated air defenses such as Patriot missiles, Stavridis said.

Listen to the Minister of Foreign Affairs from Ukraine.

While Russia should be banned from SWIFT they'll just use another currency or even gold to do their banking. The sanctions are weak including the SWIFT sanction. Russia's economy is basically based on oil which we aren't going to touch so not much harm will be done to them financially. After releasing the weak sanctions the stock market went from bright red to green and the price of a barrel of oil went down when it was clear Russian oil wasn't going to be messed with.

How would Ukraine get its transit fees of Russian gas? In bricks of pork lard?

It's going to cover it as much as CNN covered the popular uprising in Bahrain that asked for more people's participation, but was squashed with Saudi troops and American munitions. Only white people are allowed to want democracy.

Interesting. The head of Russia's space agency, which would be affected by bans on technology, said, in a nutshell - go ahead and ban it, let the space station fall on your heads. It doesn't fly over Russia so we don't care where it falls. He also suggested screening sanction writers for Alzheimer's.

What crawled up your butt this morning that makes take such sadistic glee in seeing innocent Ukranian civilians killed?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Why would Putin not have done this when trump was still president- someone unlikely to take much of a stand against him? Why now?

Putin would not have gone into Ukraine

Why?

Because trump would’ve dismantled nato for him from the inside.

This isn’t cost less for Putin - what he is doing now.

With trump, you wouldn’t see Russian tanks in Ukraine but pretty much nato would’ve crumbled internally.

Putin without any mobilization would’ve achieved what he wants

Why didn’t nato go in to help protect Ukraine? Now it’s too late.

Because they don't actually care. They will not mess with the oil supply.

Lol settle oil contracts in physical gold? OK, chief.

Oil contracts are not settled in crypto. And if Putin even tries it, crypto will get shut out of the US banking system with a quickness. BTC back down to sub $1K.

Something that should concern US citizens…

How much and what software has been outsourced to European countries? Security, financial, etc. and to test your software they usually use real data, I.E., ssn, bank acct numbers, etc
