Wild Card teams are by age group only, top 4 finishers in each age group at Nat'l Playoffs who's club is not selected into Champions Cup. I don't think any team in MA South can get that done though.

This weeks update standings:
CISC - 22
NVA - 14
SYC - 14
VRSC - 13

The April matchup between SYC and VRSC across all age groups will have a big impact. U13 and U14 matchups with NVA and CISC will also have a big impact.

Regarding the boys' program, there are rumors circulating within the boys' program, suggesting that players whose parents are closely connected to the Technical Director and President receive "special access." This privileged treatment reportedly includes advantages like additional training with older teams, guest player opportunities, and approval to play in older age groups. Furthermore, it is rumored that these close relationships facilitate direct, unregulated communication, potentially allowing parents to sway significant decisions impacting the team or the club as a whole.

That was obvious when Niko was there. It’s obvious with Karl there. Not sure about Harris.

My honest question is are these the top players and actually deserving of these opportunities? You hear this kind of stuff in every club and the people who complain tend to be kids that are average but the parents think their kid also should be getting the same opportunities even they may not put in the extracurricular training outside of the club. My kid has sometimes been the subject of these convos but has literally been getting outside training since U8, has always been a top 1-3 player but the parents that take issue drop their kid at practice and that's all the training they've ever gotten. One of them can do absolutely nothing with their left foot.

You act like these coaches are gods and only their opinion of what makes a good player is the truth. I watched this for years and most coaches, including ones with decent reputations are very bad at identifying talent. They bring in players constantly to top teams that are really bad. Their decisions make or break kids even if it isn’t deserved. Pay attention closely what they do to your child and make adjustments accordingly. These coach are so bad and are the cause many kids don’t stay in sports. Often they are the biggest bullies and nasty toward kids and get away with it. This is particularly true at VRSC. Coaches are putting themselves and their ego above actually working on a players talent. Stealing bigger stronger players over a talented skilled player is an artwork for theses coaches and organizations.. there’s all sorts of favoritism.

There’s one player BP and cc cut from fcv who now plays at VT.

Another they thought was great for years who got cut right away from Penn state because she didn’t pass their physical tests.

Some parents are just gaming the system and are good at it.

I doubt the U13 and U14 matchups with CISC will have much of an impact on the GA Mid-Atlantic South standings.

Management/Director’s ego is why all the coaches are leaving. The top dogs are threatened by anyone with credentials just as good or better than theirs. To the point of inflating their own.

The top guy’s posted CV on their website. He worked at all those top English Clubs that generate millions and millions of dollars. Leaves England? He takes a job as coach in little old Leesburg Virginia. Three years later, he becomes the President? Give me a break. Did anyone check the references:

License: UEFA B & FA Youth Award
Years in Coaching: 14
Playing Experience: Semi Professional in the UK
Coaching Highlights
Professional coach and scout in England at Chelsea FC, Southampton FC, Crystal Palace FC, Cambridge United FC, Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Ebbsfleet United, and Woking FC.
Produced players that have played internationally and in the Premier League and Football League.
Fun Facts: Qualified as a Goalkeeper Coach and a Referee. Has a Bachelors Degree in Football Studies with Business and worked at the London 2012 Games with the football teams that participated.

Also has an MBA and moved to NoVA in Feb 2018 where he "started the North America operations from scratch and built it into a profitable business for our parent company"... has WAY more experience than just what you see in soccer/football. He's a hell of a lot smarter than most of them up there and is very professional. THIS is why he was named President of LU. He's not coaching the team... he oversees all sporting, front office, and stadium operations, which is what a professional would be hired to do. Love having KS around at Revolution, definitely a voice I can trust there.

Is that so KS? lmao

dude ks is like barely 30. did he “limitless” himself like bradley cooper to get all that done? not sure I believe that
Anonymous
That’s right ! KS first job at Revolution was a coach! I remember that! Does anybody remember the age group he coached?

Being jealous of someone gaining achievement doesn't look good on you, but it definitely suits you. Actually go out and look at the work he's put in for himself. He's got more management skill in his pinky than you and most of them up at Revolution (and I'm a parent). If that's the most important role they have, it should be his. And based on him getting his Business Studies degree in 2011, he's probably closer to 37, but not sure how British university works. Def older than 30, lol.

Not all boy dads... my son plays at VRSC, we're happy. Oh, since someone will say otherwise... he plays on his age's top team.
