Top Ten
1. Paul VI. Only 2 good wins and both of those are diminished as Spalding may not make the MIAA playoffs and STAB hasn’t played a tough schedule 2. Georgetown Prep. Upset by the Eagles but go out of state and beat a top team from CA and a top 11 nationally ranked FL team 3. Bullis. Loses to one player from TX and a top 3 team in DE. 4. St. John’s. Still has the most talent in the area, FO has improved, but now selfish offensive play has hurt them. 5. Good Counsel. WHAT? Not many think GC would lose again to the FO-less Bears 6. Landon. Everyone thinks they have a chance by winning 70% of FO’s. They aren’t wrong. 7. St. Albans - 2nd in the IAC is theirs with some inspired play 8. Potomac/St. James - They will hang around by winning games 9. Episcopal - Sorry, GZ it’s really that bad down on Eye St. 10 Urbana - by way of beating Severna Park who beat Robinson |
How to lose all credibility with a throwaway 8-10. Well done. |
GP’s wins don’t look so good at this point. That “top 11 nationally ranked team” has proved to have been wrongly ranked. They’re not even close to ranked now and lost to Episcopal. GP lost to GZ who you claim isn’t even top 10 locally. |
Your last point is a pretty glaring counter to the PP's rankings. Guessing he may be a GP dad due to the write up. |

GP lost to Episcopal PA, who is top 5 nationally and not the one in VA, and to a rival upset. They just beat an excellent FL team and another one from CA.
GZ will probably end up 7-9 or 6-10 before the WCAC tourney. They have one excellent player and really not many players who would exceptionally shine at another school. After review of STJ schedule, they are out of consideration unless they go undefeated and have a goal differential p/g at 15+. Urbana is a DEI nod to the publics but they are good. Bullis will be interesting as Bullis beat Cape Henlopen pretty well last year and then lost this year. Could the same thing happen against the public or, more likely, it will be a much closer game. Episcopal VA gets Bullis -7 GP plays STA +5 Landon v SSSAS +6 Christchurch at GC -3. Really good comparative game BI @ GZ. GZ -12. This win means nothing DOJ @ SJC. -16 Collegiate @ Potomac. The MAAC is so weak. |
As bad as that sounds, it was actually even worse. It was 8-0 for GC at halftime when the starters were pulled and the only points DM had were from the GC transfer in garbage time. DM never even threatened to score outside of those two shots. |
Cape Henlopen is "good", they are public school state champ of DE almost eveyr year Salesanium is a private school and, yes, they beat Henlopen, and they would likely beat any of the IAC schools. It is definitely not a "bad" loss. I would agree that two one goal losses for the Bulldogs in March doesn't; mean the wheels have fallen off. They are the team to beat in the IAC. Upperclassmenr are light years better than last years team and they have the most consistent dedicated coachign staff in the IAC. They do not get enough credit for all that they do (and have had to put up with over the years) |
What did Bullis have to out up with besides scholarship players who have gone onto college success? |

No opinions, just facts:
1. Season ends for most area teams in little over a month. Goes by quick! 2. During that time, conference opponents will go head-to-head and league champions will be crowned, yet senseless rankings debate will rage on. 3. PVI is one and only team that can run the DMV table and finish with an undefeated season and unanimous title belt. 4. The transitive property of 'Team A will beat Team B because Team A just beat a team that Team B loss to' gets tested this afternoon when the Texas slayers from STA take on GP. 5. According to the lax # crunchers in Vegas, SJC has played the toughest schedule to date. Landon & GP are tied for 2nd. GZ is 4th. Huge drop off thereafter. 6. EHS-haters will either be validated or disproven today when the Maroon takes on reeling Bullis. 7. GC defends WCAC's honor and is defacto Team USA vs ChristChurch Canadian Outdoor Box Team (who board in Va). |
Good post! |
These rankings are horrible. 1. PVI: hanging on by a thread with an undefeated record. 2. GP: strong showing in Florida trip against top competition 3. Landon: looked solid across the board against GZ 4. SJC: The Cadets play way too inconsistently for the amount of talent on its roster 5. Bullis: Bulldogs are coming back down to life after a strong start to the season. 6. GC: Falcons can score goals and win face-offs, but need to play better defense if they are going to make a run in the WCAC 7. GZ: Don't be fooled by their 2-6 record, the Eagles are very young this year and will be better come WCAC playoff time. 8. STA: looking to play spoiler in the IAC this spring. 9. EHS: beat a high-quality opponent 10. Urbana: reigning MD 4A state champs knocked of perenial public school state power Severna Park last week. HM: Potomac School |
We know Dematha is bad, whyyyyy do people keep beating this dead horse? It’s so boring. Enough!! |
Potomac may not last in the top 10 with some okay opponents coming up. They only list 3 recruits but 1 is Duke and the other 2 are lax playing d3. If one ends up 7-9 and the other 15-2, who is better. It’s bad on eye st when this becomes a conversation. |
| is speaks being fired from SJC after this season? |
| Ummmm...No. But a WCAC title would help. |
