She can file in Texas which she didn’t want to do or try again to file in New York and provide more arguments for why NY has jurisdiction.

Right - just to be clear, the claims are not being dismissed because they fail to state a claim (as Baldoni's complaint was), but because Liman says the NY court lacks personal jurisdiction over these claims against Texas resident Wallace, and because Lively did not convincingly tie any of Wallaces actions to NY itself so as to give the state jurisdiction over Wallace. It was necessary to allow some discovery to determine whether jurisdiction existed, and now that discovery has been completed, so Lively has until July 30th to refile the complaint in SDNY if she wishes (rather than in TX), limited purely to those claims that already existed in her prior complaint.

My own personal theory is that Wallace says he was in NY for a week from December 9 to December 16, 2024, but that he didn't do any work on that trip, and that his work on Baldoni concluded in November 2024. I'd be surprised if it really stopped in November, and if Wallace is in charge of Street Relations I would fully expect he conducted some work during his vacation in early December, less than a month after he says his work on Baldoni stopped. Just my theory!

You can’t just make up things and call them your “theory.” No reason to believe Jed didn’t stop. People HATE Blake, no smear campaign needed.

I mean, I kind of can? It's the Internet and people speculate? Granted, if I were thinking about trying to file my little theory with the judge based on something someone told me that they heard from someone else who heard it from someone else, probably any loser off the street would know not to try that on -- oh, wait --

You're inventing things because for some reason you cannot fathom people would hate Blake Lively organically even though for years, people have hated the idiot who rambles like a child and got married on a slave plantation.

And by that, I mean Liman offering Gottlieb multiple more amended complaints against Wallace when Baldoni got none far earlier in the case, and Gottolieb has failed in multiple briefs to establish any basis for jurisdiction over Wallace.

Can JB do anything to appeal the judge’s decision/complain about this corrupt judge?

It’s honestly scary how much bias is probably baked into the judicial system and the only reason it’s being exposed this time is because thousands of online sleuths are paying attention.

Holy shit, I'm reading the Twitter thread and Liman is SO nasty to Wayfarer and so nice to Gottlieb.

I mean YMMV but Baldoni did get chances to amend some claims and plenty of warning that Liman felt they had sufficient notice of the deficiencies on his major claims. That's on his lawyers.

But yes, it is pretty funny how Liman has all these suggestions to help Gottlieb, like letting him file a fake complaint to get Wallace back in the case tonight. At one point he asks Babcock if he objects to just vacating the order dismissing Wallace! And Wallace is like... uh, yes? And it is all so the princess doesn't have to potentially sit for another short deposition by Wallace's attorneys if their claims come back. Which I get the judge said everyone will do only one and that is very valid as far as not allowing Wayfarer's side to play games with document production, but this situation is caused by the judge choosing to drop this order today...

A side issue seems to be that the deposition is only 7 hours and this would eat into the time Wayfarer's lawyers have with her, since Wallace's attorney wants an hour with her, which will be a waste if it turns out he's not a party anymore.

I mean Babcock aid yes, the parties were not there.

Where did the Liman and Gottlieb connection come from — is it that they both clerked for the same Supreme Court justice? That’s a pretty exclusive club.

This summary of the hearing on Reddit made me chuckle.

Judge Liman: We have an emergency. We need to figure out how to make Blake happy and comfortable because she said she only wants to get deposed one time.

Wayfarer: Your Honor, attorneys and clients are all mid flight on the way to NY-

Judge Liman: I don’t care that anyone is mid flight, figure it out or Blake will be coming over my house instead of showing up at your deposition tomorrow.

Wayfarer: Just because she’s famous doesn’t mean she should get special treatment. Blake is the one suing everybody, we should be able to depose her more than once. It’s not even an inconvenience for her, she lives in NY.

Judge Liman: Justin is famous too so STFU. This is my court and I want to make sure Blake feels comfortable. Michael Gottlieb, why don’t you file a dummy complaint tomorrow and I’ll give you another chance to file an amended complaint so that Blake can get what she needs tomorrow?

Michael Gottlieb: Great idea judge, thanks for the lookout homie!

Judge Liman: Great, send Blake and Deadpool my regards!

She is never going to be deposed.

Why is the judge giving Blake’s attorneys advice? I hate him.
