That reddit recap is hilariously accurate. And I'm someone who often gets accused of being a Lively shill! |
Remember, Wayfarer had to draft their emergency response by Sunday so the judge could rule for her immediately Monday because it was so important that the depo be held Thursday. |
What is the reference “depends how stupid the dummy is” about? Who said or what is it referring to in connection with today’s emergency heating? I am seeing people saying it with laughing emojis. What is context? Thx |
Wallace was dismissed today for lack of personal jurisdiction so he is no longer a party, but it's without prejudice so Blake may refile and make him a party again. That's an issue because they had planned for his lawyers to depose Blake tomorrow but now he's no longer a party. That would mean for him to depose her, she either had to reschedule her deposition (which is what ended up happening), be deposed again later (heaven forbid) or Wallace would need to be quickly added back as a party. Liman "helpfully" suggested Gottlieb should file a dummy complaint, basically re-file his old complaint (that was dismissed) tonight with the idea he can amend it into the "real" complaint later, basically just for show as a technicality to make Wallace a defendant in this case as of tomorrow morning. Wallace's attorney Babcock was asked if he is ok with the "dummy" complaint and said "it depends how stupid the dummy is" as a lighthearted and witty comment, to register his disagreement. |
Yea, and an important one to Liman who has written about Stevens. |
Liman also offered to reverse the dismissal, which was bizarre. |
Yes. Cray-cray. |
Something needs to be done about Liman, but what? What can Wayfarer do? |
This is beyond bizarre. Liman has lost his damn mind and looks like a fool. |
Wait wtf really? I don’t speak legalese so I missed that. |

There is technical a motion pending for recusal by Dogpool guy, lol. There's nothing Wayfarer can do. He won't recuse and pursuing that will make him even more inclined against them. It's weird. I have thought Liman was pretty fair until the past week or so... like I fully agreed with him dismissing all of Wayfarer's complaints, but the last couple of decisions feel like he's putting the finger on the scale for Lively in odd ways. |
There was no reason to delay the deposition other than the judge agreeing with Gottlieb that Wallace couldn’t get a bit more deposition time if Gottlieb added new claims to an amended complaint. Obviously any additional deposition questions would have to be connected to those new claims, if any and it would not have been lengthy.
Maybe Liman realized the schedule he ordered yesterday doesn’t allow Blake enough time for content producer discovery, and this is a reason to extend. |
Is this person always summarizing or can they please go forward- this was informative and fabulous! |
Blake misses the fact pattern of sexual harassment cases in nearly every aspect.
She wields the power every step of the way, whether it's on set or in court or with traditional institutions. It's bizarre. Like I know it doesn't make sense to say that Liman being biased toward Blake means she wasn't sexually harassed. Those two things aren't related. But it feels that way. What other victim has a judge who bends over backwards for her? What other victim had a studio bend over backwards for her? What other victim has a powerful agency like WME come out and support her? They just don't do that. The heads of WME and CAA didn't come out in support of Angelina Jolie or Evan Rachel Wood or Amber Heard. And that's because Blake is the one in this situation with control. She is not a victim. Not by a longshot. |
