SATC New Season - And Just Like That...

When Steve cheated it had been six months and she was exhausted from her workload. In this case it’s been YEARS, for no apparent reason other than absence of romantic/sexual interest.

Yes, the faster we time-hop the sooner we can get to Carrie having sex or going on dates without it being Too Soon for a Widow.

So six months of sex = cheating is not OK, but all of a sudden it becomes OK after…what, a year? 18 months? Please do let us know the line so we can get the word out that breaking your marriage vows is OK if there’s no sex for X months exactly. That way we can write them directly into the vows, right?

For richer, for poorer
Forsaking all others, unless there is no sex for X months or more…

I don't have teen girls, so maybe that's why I was mystified by this, but "Rock" rapping about her new name on TikTok (shouldn't she be called "Rap"?) and expecting their parents to watch it also seemed unusual.

Loved the texting scene with Samantha. She needs to come back.

Was this the first time we've seen the hallway outside Carrie's apartment?

Miranda was drunk though, hence the giggling and weirdness was typical

I thought it was just a special mini series. They’re going to drag this show to its death. Literally.

When did she say how long it had been? I missed that.

In ep 3 she told Charlotte she hadn't had sex in YEARS. Clearly the romantic relationship with Steve is done, just neither has had the courage to call it.

Plus it's one thing to have graphic talk about sex, another to realize a friend watched you have sex from a few feet away.

They've ruined Miranda as a character.
I'm only 37 so I don't know yet but are 55 year olds really so "old"?
The women seem to hobble around, cranky and forgetful. They wince and groan when they run, walk or simply pivot. I was so glad charlee did burpees. She seemed slightly less geriatric than the rest

Charlotte was always the most athletic and perky of the group, and is also the only happy one overall. Carrie had an injury and is grief-stricken, was energetic and normal at first. Miranda is having the mid-life crisis to end all mid-life crises, and it is painful to watch. But as someone who at least always had a high-flying career to boost her confidence, she doesn't even have that anymore. She's completely lost her mojo and is at a complete loss as to how to get it back. Painful to watch, but I'm curious about how her arc will unfold.

There was a better show about old ladies - golden girls.

Anonymous wrote:So how rich are these women supposed to be?

Carrie seems like she is very wealthy now and she did not make much money in her lifetime nor was she born rich. I imagine with the sales of her books, she probably amassed what, a net worth of a couple hundred thousand dollars?

I imagine Big funded her lifestyle with the beautiful penthouse and the upgrades to her apartment.

Miranda was in big law and a partner for a few years so I imagine she is worth 5mil. Steve owned a bar, which I’m sure was pretty successful so I’d say his net worth is somewhere in the 2-5 mil.

Charlotte recieved a million dollars from her divorce and her apartment. Harry is a partner at a law firm so he brings in 2-3 mil a year. I’d imagine their net worth is in the 15 mil or so. They do well but not enough to be on the board at the Met. Lol

Of course Carrie is wealthy because of Big. She was a moderately successful writer but she would not have some lavish lifestyle if she were single.

Miranda and Steve bought that Brooklyn brownstone that they renovated in the early 2000s. If they sold it they would have made a ton of money. It looks like they traded up-- the house doesn't look like the same layout as their old one. Miranda would be very wealthy as a law partner. I can't imagine Steve's bar did great during the pandemic but they glossed over that. It would have been interesting to explore that.

As a divorce lawyer for the wealthy I'm sure Harry is loaded, but you're right that Charlotte being on the board of the Met is a stretch. There are plenty of small art museums in New York that would have been more realistic.

I want to know why Lisa (the new cast member) is so rich. The apartment they filmed in is currently for sale by Sothebys for $23m. And that art collection…

Everyone on this show became rich through their husbands except Miranda.

Clearly family money/ trust fund. Interesting that ILs from the Carolinas though.

I think it’s obvious LTW’s husband has made a crazy amount of money in NYC. Probably finance.

LTW’s character is loosely based on Crystal McCrary McGuire, married to Ray McGuire who is the former vice chair of Citi who recently ran for mayor. Super paid.

Wait, I thought LTW was based on LSD (Lauren Santo Domingo), who's married to a Colombian magnate. Hence the three-letter nickname and all.

Yep. I’m good with the time jumps and glad Big is out of the picture. Their relationship never felt right and she’s much more interesting without him.
