DP here... Rebecca also had some issues with weight/eating as she was growing up. Not to the extent Kate did, but there was an episode about it. Kate did not have a healthy way to deal with her emotions, so she ate. When she was sad or depressed, she ate. Its a disorder and no one helped her. She should have gotten help as a young woman. At this point she needs surgery to get a start.

Well said! This is the glaring problem that is never to be spoken about and I'm sick of it. I would have had so much more respect for the writers (and the actress) if they had shown her going on a gastric bypass journey. She's a beautiful woman, but is morbidly obese and there's no sugarcoating that. As the mother of two young children, her health and safety should be foremost. In real life, doctors AND family members would be pleading with her to have the surgery. At that weight, diet and exercise aren't going to touch the issue.

Have you all watched the whole show? There has been TONS of storyline on this. It was Kate’s entire plot for like two years. She and Toby met at a meeting for people with disordered eating.

And that’s where they Madison, who was there for HER disordered eating!

Well said! This is the glaring problem that is never to be spoken about and I'm sick of it. Have you all watched the whole show? There has been TONS of storyline on this. It was Kate’s entire plot for like two years. She and Toby met at a meeting for people with disordered eating.

And that’s where they Madison, who was there for HER disordered eating!

They developed Madison’s character well enough that many of us are rooting for her.

DP. I don't remember Rebecca having an eating disorder, but her mother did. I thought Rebecca successfully resisted her mother's wackiness around food, no? I think I remember, also, a scene where her mother tried to go after Kate when she was little and Rebecca shut it down quickly.

I think Kate also subconsciously gave up trying to compete with her mother in the looks department because Rebecca was a natural beauty.

I didn't say she had an eating disorder. Her mother instilled some unhealthy beliefs around food, hovered over what she ate, payed too much attention to looks. There were scenes where Rebecca notices herself starting to do the same to Kate.

I think we’ve seen two future weddings. Madison is pregnant in one view and not the one where she and Beth discover woman’s clothes in Kev’s room. The picture taking is probably Kate’s marriage to Phillip.
