Arm chair comments not warranted - noone wants to coach against that team! |
If 32 doesn’t get healthy, they won’t beat Prep. |
| SJC has talent all over the field and is not dependent on any one player. Last time Prep took them lightly they got smoked. |
Someone with an inferiority complex keeps chirping about a game from a far away galaxy...it is 2021 so stay focused. |
Bullis beat them once and now it's for all the cookies. |
| When is the final? |
Not 100% on this but I believe Tuesday, May 25. Time TBD. |

IAC Final - Scouting both teams and guess at outcome:
FOGO - Prep...not close Goalie _ Bullis...closer than you think as Bullis goalie hasn't played great this year Attack - Prep...just a bit above even cause of UMD commit from Prep Midfield - Prep..not close..Prep Senior's better than Bullis Seniors D - Bullis...While Soph LSM from Prep may end up being the best in the end, top 3 poles are on Bullis (2 seniors/1junior) Depth - Prep...not close Coaching - Even Prediction: Saw both games yesterday live. Within the field, it is strength on strength re Bullis D vs. Prep 0. With Prep FOGO tilting the field with a ton of extra possessions, Bullis D will end up playing a lot of D and will need to hold up mentally and physically against a very talented set of Middies for Prep, who controlled the game against Landon. Bullis goalie will have to play much better against Prep than he did against SSSA to steal some would-be goals. Prep goalie has been playing very well and turned a question mark at the beginning of the season in to a strength. Bullis is the far more physical team, so if refs let them play, that will keep the Bullis D out of the box. If they don't, Prep man-up is outstanding and could make it ugly. Prediction - Prep wins 9-6, assuming Prep allows away fans to attend. If not, it could be more lopsided. |

Prep's faceoff guy #5 is the key to their success. He is excellent - like Shockey was for Landon in '17. When Landon's #19 was able to muck it up, the scoring evened. You can say it wasn't close, but Prep had their starters in for the entire game. You pull your starters at the half and sub liberally when the game isn't close.
Prep's defensemen are huge and very talented. Especially 28 -a Huge Defensive problem, two goals and an assist. As a team, they ball watch, which a team with a better dodger or two than Landon has can take advantage of with backside cutters. They are also not very physical, but that is the way the game has gone. Regardless, they are a very good team, one of the Best I have seen from Prep in a long, long time-easily the best team they have had in a decade. I think Prep beats any team in the area. Prep's midfield is also excellent. How many graduate? # 10 and #16 I would like to have on my team any day. To say Landon isn't well coached is a very curious comment. Based upon what? I think the game between Landon and SJC will be a dog fight. I think Prep will win against SJC. |

I agree with previous poster, Prep over Bullis. Unless the Bullis goalie stands on his head. One thing not mentioned, home field advantage. Landon bounced a lot of shots over the cage on Prep's astrodirt field. That Rugby Pitch, given the pristine fields and turfs these teams are accustomed to playing on these days, is like DeMatha's homefield advantage back in the day when they played on a Public Park dirt track.

Why is Prep playing on the dirt rather than in the stadium this year? |
Construction on campus. New buildings have them moving the location of the stadium. |
The middle of the field saw some great action. #28 for Prep is a monster, and Landon's #4 also recorded several points in transition. Landon's between the lines game improved from early season woes. They simply had no answer for Preps early possession advantage, midfield athleticism, and Prep shooters were dialed in. Wonder how much a factor Landon having to play a game on Tuesday was after the bizarre IAC seeding. |
Landon had to play Prep some time. Be happy the kids got some lacrosse in this spring. |
| Prep always has a great team but never wins the championship |
