It seems that the local cops really botched the intial investigation |
DP They can't both think this (that the public isn't threatened) and have a hotline for tips. A hotline suggests they have no suspect in mind. So why wouldn't the public be at risk if there is someone running around kidnapping elderly while they sleep? |

I think it’s odd an elderly woman living in a large house alone (and the mother of a celebrity) wouldn’t have a better security system? It sounds like there was a barely functioning ring doorbell and something that let them know ‘approximately’ when the garage was closed.
I’m a nobody but I have a system that is much more precise than that - it at least would be able to tell me the exact time a person was on my driveway; what time they were at the door; and what time the door was opened, with supporting video that goes to an app. |
Nobody suggested she kidnapped her mom. What is suggested is a murder occurred (accidental or otherwise), and the missing person call was false |
Do you think most 84 yr olds are up to date on the latest security systems and their related apps? This is much more a function of her age than her family's wealth. |
But her peers would then be at risk as would their family members I would think. If she was at risk due to her job and the people she interviews, etc.. |
Well, they are not “the public” and as another data point, they all stayed in the US and did not go overseas to Italy, where several of them were scheduled to go. |
I think if the sisters basic story hadn’t been validated by police, she’d be a suspect. So far, she isn’t. And the stats are on her side that she wouldn’t commit a violent crime. |
Only a small minority of homes in America have security systems. I am sure it has never crossed the mind of most older people living in a suburban area. |
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it. You nailed the description of the moment; somber and mood change. |
+1 |
+1 She did not have enough supports in place for someone of her age and health issues living alone on that property. . |
Even if true, what does that have to do with her being kidnapped??? The elderly don't get support to deter kidnappers, as far as I know. |
I saw the clip and interpreted their behavior to be somber and sad to show support for their colleague yet also to move forward with telling the news, as “this is what Savannah would want.” |
|
Savannah just posted a new Instagram. It seems like the mother is still alive and they are still hoping to find her. She has said she’s asking for help from anyone even if you don’t live anywhere near the area if you’ve seen or heard or anything.
It truly sounds like they have no leads. |
