Covid vaccine and menstruation

I had a couple of pimples after vax. I am 45 and (not surprisingly) never get pimples. I don’t have a continuing problem tho

I’m between 1st and 2nd Pfizer shot and period came today 5 days early. Normally 28 days on the dot.

my period was almost was 17 days late after my second Moderna shot. My cycle has been a little off for a while 22-30 day cycles and I’m 47 so maybe this was just peri but it’s the latest I’ve ever been.

After years of no acne, I have it again on my forehead and the only times I ever had it was when I was a hormonal teenager or as an adult, when I’m about to start my period. And now I have it all the time. My period was mostly the same (except no migraine—maybe this side effect will last?), but the hormonal acne is kind of a bummer. Hoping it goes away at some point...

Mine. Is. Horrible. But I also had a really awful period that lasted a week.

I had heavier than usual flow after my first shot, but no big deal. After my second shot, however, I've been bleeding for 46 days. After about 2 weeks, it was more like continuous spotting, but for the past couple of days it's been extremely heavy with lots of big clots. Doctors aren't sure why, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the vaccine. I've been waiting for a response from the cdc for over a month. Ugh!

Would you say it was worth it?

I was thinking it was still worth it until a couple of days ago. Now I'm just feeling scared. I feel like I'm losing too much blood, but I feel ok physically (not emotionally), although my husband won't let me drive because he thinks I could pass out or something. I'm just glad I'm past the childbearing stage. I would be really worried if I were younger, pre-kids.

Almost exactly the same for me. I’m 34. Very regular cycles, 28-29 days. Not TTC. But did get my first shot around ovulation time. And my period came about 6 days early.

Oh my goodness, this is me, too! I’ve already posted on this thread (and on the deleted ones), but I wish there was a way PM you because I feel like my case sounds so extreme, it’s the one making the threads go poof. But, yes, I’m on day 36 now. Started the day after my first shot. Started on Provera around day 26 to try to stop the bleeding, and it worked for a few days, but now it’s back. This is miserable. I reported to the CDC last week.

You're the third person I know of who is going through this. This really is miserable. I have a dr appt tomorrow, but it's disheartening to hear that the provera stopped working for you. I hope there's something else that can be done.

I really hope so, too. Good luck with your dr appt and please update if you make any progress. I’m keeping an eye on this thread. I hate that this is happening to anyone at all but it oddly comforting to know it’s not just me.

I am in peri menopause and my periods had been coming about 50 days apart for almost 6 months. Regular 4 day flows. I completed the Pfizer vaccination in January and no proper period since then. I have been spotting/light bleeding every day for the last 4 weeks now. I thought this was just advancing menopause but now I’m wondering if it’s the vaccine.

FWIW, I was bleeding through the entire Covid recovery when I got sick with Covid. The virus itself does thing on your menstrual cycle too. Didn't read the whole thread, so don't know if anyone else already mentioned it.

Period arrived a week late. Pfizer shot #2 tomorrow. Can't wait to see what that brings!

Normally 28 days on the dot. 6 days and counting - some period pains (which I rarely ever get). Still waiting.

My 20 y.o. daughter started her period early the day she got her first shot, which was 6 days before it was due. She hasn't had a period since then (approx 7wks ago). She did get her second shot. If I would have known at that time that she wouldn't have it 7 weeks later, i would have told her not to get the 2nd shot. I'm beyond worried, especially after reading all of these posts.

I apologize if this was posted already; I didn't read the entire thread.

Our survey was approved and made it through production! VACCINATED MENSTRUATORS ASSEMBLE:

(This is a project to explore whether the covid vaxes affect the periods - if you have menstruated before and got the vax, take 15 min to tell us your experiences!)
