What’s so great about Mike Richards? Everything I’ve seen about him screams scumbag.

He's not running for president and he's not the pope, he's a stupid game show host and he's apparently pretty good at it.

Vote with your clicker. Don't watch.

DP. He is an awful host actually. And, apparently a vile person too.

+1. Awful host and vile person.

Wrong, he was a good host, no matter what you think of him as a person.

Are you blind? He was terrible.

I care about who I support in my watching. Being a decent human being should be the bare minimum.

And this guy's apology acted like this was a youthful mistake? He was 39 when he used these slurs. I'm more than five years younger than that and I know better.

He's vile, calculating, and not someone I would ever want my kid to watch on TV.

Sorry LeVar didn't get the job. Richards was experienced and handled hosting duties well.

What a shame Mike Richards did shameful stuff worth canceling him for.

My tween daughter and I always try watch Jeopardy when we can. We were unimpressed with Mike Richards guest hosting - he was pretty vanilla and not very entertaining. Almost every other guest host brought more to the table (except maybe Dr. Oz). So, I was disappointed when they chose him as the permanent host. But after reading that article, I am now disgusted as well. We won't be watching Jeopardy anymore - he sounds like a vile person and I can't bear to watch him - the show is ruined for me. I really hope Jeopardy reconsiders this terrible decision.

I didn’t think LeVar Burton was that great either - I’ve been pulling for Jennings all along - but who knows how all of the host auditions would have gone if they weren’t taking direction from the executive producer who supposedly wasn’t in contention for the job and then suddenly was?

Get over it.

Good riddance. I hope Levar gets a real shot, but I'll settle for almost anyone else.

This thread is rapidly becoming an excellent example of how people’s minds are being hacked by hive mentalities on social media. Very sad.

Those are all certainly words.

I’m so glad the call was made to have him step down. I read the Ringer article and was disgusted by his past comments and views.

I know, the intolerance for bigoted views is very sad indeed.

It sounds like he's out as host, but will stay on as executive producer.

I hope the insular boys' club that picked him does a much better job of vetting the next prospects!

Perhaps they'll ask Jesus Christ to be the new host, as he is the only person on record to have led a sinless life.
