Digging the interim Jeopardy host

Ken is not perfect. But Alex was not perfect, either. There isn’t a choice out there whom everybody will love.
That being said, how can Jeopardy turn down the chance to have the legendary game’s ultimate player succeed it’s legendary host? This doesn’t happen all the time, and it makes “Jeopardy” special. With most games nobody would even care. What if the all time champ of “price is right” succeeded Bob Barker? Or what if the champ of “wheel of fortune” takes over for Pat Sajak? Nobody even knows who those people are, so it would be meaningless. There is some notoriety to being the best “jeopardy” contestant ever, and fans are fortunate Ken is just presentable/funny/engaging/sophisticated enough to be up to the task. Again, not perfect, but just (pick your game show host trait) enough. It would be like a team having the franchise best player become its coach. This is a golden opportunity for the producers of the show to do something that’s never been done, and I think that outweighs any shortcomings that Ken may have.

I like Ken Jennings. His voice is on the soft side, not oratorical, but he is gracious, witty, kind, funny, and very fast on his feet. I've adjusted to his voice.

I like this executive producer as well. He is very good looking, he seems kind, and brings a certain glamour to the role. He's doing a fine job.

Am not looking forward to Katie Couric. Her death stare is going to throw the vibe and make it not fun.

And Dr. Oz? Give me a break.

I hope Ken Jennings wins out for the long haul.

Regardless of who they ultimately choose, it should be someone who is smart enough to know most of the answers (questions!). Agree that it has to be someone with some gravitas, not just someone reading the clues. Jeopardy is different from other game shows in that contestants need to have superior intelligence or knowledge about a broad range of things. No one wants a host who comes off as inferior. Alex said he wanted to be called the “host,” not the “star.” The new host shouldn’t outshine the players or have a back story.

It’s not the volume of KJ’s voice, it’s the pitch. He has a higher, whinier voice than the Jeopardy host should have.

John Hamm should be a contender! He could Don Draper the hell out of those questions, leaving everyone feeling a bit ugly and inferior.

It appears that Mike Richards, the executive producer who filled in early, is in advanced negotiations for the job.

They went with a white man--shocking.

I either want it to be Levar Burton, or to have rotating hosts indefinitely--a mix of Jeopardy long-time champions, newscasters, actors, musicians, sports stars, etc. I mean, how cool would it be to have 2 weeks of Betty White followed by 2 weeks of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar followed by 2 weeks of Tom Hanks etc etc etc....even if you didn't love the person they'd be gone in 2 weeks and it would be fun to tune in and see who's hosting each week.

Because the black man (since we only see people for their color, right?) was terrible. Levar blew the interview and didn’t seem prepared.

I love Levar Burton. LOVE him. But not for Jeopardy host. Not really thrilled about this producer guy either.

Honestly I thought Buzzy would’ve been the best pick.

I'm also not a fan of Ken Jennings.

I'm hoping Levar Burton gets the chance I think he'd be perfect!

Burton was awful!

I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not.

Mayim Bialik was the best guest host. Not even close.
