He was terrible. I hate to say it, because I love just about everything else he’s done.

Social media astroturfing != real life. Nobody gives a damn about levar burton. And this blossom gal is also terrible. It was obvious all along Ken Jennings was the rightful heir apparent.

James Holzhauer tweeted this "Some judged Mike Richards solely on his podcast comments and formed a negative opinion, but I judged him by the way he treated people backstage at Jeopardy and formed a much stronger negative opinion"

So apparently Richards was a huge jerk backstage. Glad to see he's gone.

If all along this Richards guy wanted the host job, he should've been forthcoming about it by letting go of the executive producer role from the beginning-- he didn't, and now he's lost it all.

Furthermore, we're confronted here with a perfect example of how a lot of people in this country, particularly non-white people never get a fair shake and are, unbeknownst to them, doomed from the very beginning. One has to wonder if Richards went through any kind of vetting , probably not. To me, it's obvious the powers that be were irritated by the thought of a non-white man replacing Trebek and conspired with Richards to orchestrate the farce of a replacement search. Until proven wrong, i just don't believe smug and smarmy Richards could've gone at this without the explicit backing of the decision makers .

Please don’t make this about race.

You're right , let's not make it about race when discussing a guy who has been revealed to be a raging bigot *eye roll*

I'm glad too.

Does he set off anyone else's gaydar? His appearance is way too perfect, which tends to be a gay/closeted trait. Getting a Seacrest vibe from him. The podcast comments sound like an actor putting on a masculine act.

I didn’t get to watch Buzzy Cohen host the ToC when it first aired, but they’re re-running it now. He’s actually very good. Plus, I understand he was one of the “final 3” they were considering. Any chance he gets the full time gig? I mean, why not?

I was just asking my DH last night as we rewatched the ToC why it didn’t seem as though he was really in the running? He did a great job.

Buzzy Cohen irritated me as a champ but he was a surprisingly excellent host. I also don’t dislike Ken Jennings, and I do think Levar Burton could still be good. I’m fine with near anyone since Mike Richards has finally gotten shoved out, which is better than he deserved. I’m not surprised by what Holzhauer’s tweet, Richards oozed a certain slimy insincerity from the jump. And he’s NOT good-looking at all. Oof, that face.

Buzzy was too much for me. Like watching a cartoon of a human.

We’re also watching the ToC and are impressed with how well Buzzy did. I think he would be an excellent full-time host.

Other than his glasses, I don’t know why you would feel that way. He’s a pretty great host.

They’re airing Mike Richards’ episodes this week he had already taped. Who’s gonna watch? I am.

This. I like him, but he is such a cartoon character. I could see him on The Incredibles.

He needed a second day like all the originally scheduled guest hosts to ease into it.

Didn't he get a week, like the rest of the guest hosts?

One week of shows is apparently taped in one day. The other guest hosts got two weeks/two days.

Seems like a very nice person, but just annoying as hell as a host.

Boring* was the wrong and cruel word. Ken is the SAFE pick. He's got a solid personality. He's perfect for the gig.

THIS.

Really enjoying this current stretch of Ken hosting with the Amazing Amy!
