Don't tread on me license plate

Tell him to stop being a sheep and get or make (rugged individual!) a different flag with the same idea.

When I google, there's a few articles saying that people think it's racist, but that hasn't been my experience. The guys I know that have the flags/shirt are usually ex military and one of DH's friends is black with the sticker on his Jeep

Other people's thoughts?

I love that image/motto. To me it is very New Hampshire/Libertarian. It also has echoes of Ben Franklin's political cartoon of the 13 colonies. I am sure people will have a problem with the peace symbol soon. As soon as cancel culture crosses one thing off the list, they move on to the next no matter how nonsensical.

NH, a great role model state. No seatbelt or motorcycle helmet law.

How independent, how courageous, how patriotic (and STUPID).

What's stupid is wearing a motorcycle helmet or seatbelt only because the government man told you to, under threat of coercion like a toddler, and not because you understand and appreciate its value.

Also, my grandfather drove around new Hampshire without his seatbelt at the ripe age of 95.

The snake doesn’t want your money or your stuff.

He doesn’t want to control you.

He doesn’t even want to bite you.

The snake just wants to be left alone.

DON’T — TREAD — ON — ME.

1. Stop acting like a racist price of garbage.

2. It's pontificating a thought someone else had. Much less "taxing" than having their own thought.

3. I'm don't think they are worried about partying with you

Who says he doesn't want to bite you? What do snakes eat?

You found an outstanding man who isn’t afraid to think for himself. Kudos to you.

Don't Tread on Me is also about not being tracked, profiled and spammed by large powerful corporations that know more about us than we know ourselves.

They are a huge turnoff for me.

Because that symbol is embraced by people who think government is the enemy. Same for regulation.

When in fact, government is your tax dollars/elected representatives working for you. And regulations keep us safe.

Don’t get me started on how out of control gun violence is in our country.

So, I cannot advise you because I would never marry someone like your husband.

Does seeing that license plate make you nervous or trigger you in some way? I’ve never seen a person of color with this license plate. It’s always been a white man or woman. Lots of Jeeps and big pickup trucks.

I’d love to hear the reactions of people of color.

Woman of color here. When I see it, I think of someone who values individual freedom. I don’t associate it with racism.

I grew up on the West Coast so I was quite intrigued when I saw these in VA.

So you pay extra for a license plate from the state of Virginia?

What funny is that we have a house in our neighborhood in MoCo, with white owners who have don't tread on me Virginia license plates on every car, so they pay significantly more in car taxes and fees to have the special VA plates than to just get MD plates.

And, on top of that, they have the most disgusting sfh in our neighborhood. No HOA, and they are the only ones with cars parked on their lawn, trash strewn everywhere, etc...

I guess that's what "don't tread on me" means to them, paying extra taxes to stick it to the man. Bwahahahaha.

Since they don't tread on me, license plate and flag have been co-opted by mega, when I see those plates, what goes through my head is the phrase yeah you don't want me to tread on you, but I know you're gonna be treading all over me" The people who have this typically don't want government overreach on things that they value, but have no problem, supporting government overreach on what "others " value They want their cake, with frosting and a cherry on top too
