What is your take on the Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt divorce saga? What happened on the plane?

I think Angelina is crazy. Brad knew this and still wanted it and wanted to add many more kids to it. He is getting what he deserves. A crazy ass ex-wife.
I also think After a few kids and a few year, Brad wasn’t quite as enamored with Angelina anymore. You know, real life and all that. He just wanted to smoke pot and drink but there were ALL these kids. Angelina wanted to be a humanitarian not a fun loving pothead. The kids will be just like every other celebrity child. Probably messed up but with a ton of money and never ending opportunities. |

Oh please. They likely had a wild and crazy sex-best he's ever had and he wanted that. He wanted kids too and he liked the whole "I'm a humanitarian thing" to make him feel like he contributes something valuable to the world. Once the sex intoxication was over he was left with a literal and figurative hangover lying next to a bat shit crazy wife. |

Jolie’s extremely high-profile divorce lawyer Laura Wasserman quit exactly for this reason. She encourages her clients to form a co-operative parenting relationship and Jolie wanted to go scorched earth. |

| She is a total loon, but just because he is super good lucking and charming doesn't mean this isn't true. As others have mentioned upthread, this guy is an addict through and through. I totally believe he could get drunk and become abusive. Maybe not every night or every week or every month, but enough. |

+2 I would agree this serves him right but really terrible for the kids. I also think he is perfectly capable of being an @ss and that it's shocking too massive egos were able to cohabitate that long in the first place. |

Disliking someone isn't misogyny. Misogyny is disliking someone because they're a woman. Jolie chose shock and acting crazy as her brand decades ago. It stuck. You're trying to give her a pass, to pretend that what she did shouldn't count. That's denying her agency, which is a form of misogyny. |

His side makes the point that abuse charges were almost immediately dropped. Laura Wasser is not a misogynist, she dumped her as a client for a good reason. Wasser’s focus is on peaceful negotiations and the best interests of the children. Jolie had no interest in that. Yet one year before the divorce she was crowing he was the best father ever. Doesn’t add up.

This from her sounds ridiculous:
"I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.... I’m not there yet. But I hope to be. I’m planning on it.” But one thing I don't understand from Brad is that he wants 50/50 custody of all of the kids, even the ones Angelina had before they got together? Like all 9 of them or whatever? Is that correct -- I don't see it stated anywhere. If so that seems weird. I don't get the impression that all the kids were really his thing to start with, and he's probably going to be off making movies most of the time so how much nurturing is he really going to do? Unless this is just to avoid paying her for them. Ugh the money. |
