What is your take on the Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt divorce saga? What happened on the plane?

It's not like Hollywood was beating down her door. Did you read the Sony emails about her? Brutal.

No, do tell

DP. Something about Amy pascale not wanting to put her careee on the line for a minimally talented actress.

My view is that Angelina has borderline personality disorder and Brad has narcissistic personality disorder. When they first got together, a brilliant folie a deux. But probably led to a pretty spectacular incidence of violence on the plane, fueled as well by alcohol.

(Pulls up armchair and copy of DSM-5)

Tell me more about this theory PP. Because I think Angelina is a textbook narc, and Brad just seems like ... an actor who seeks a lot of affirmation and identity from the women he's involved with, plus alcohol/pot dependency issues.

Well ... Angelina just pings my borderline radar - particularly adopting all those kids. She also has a history of self-harm. And abandoment/abuse issues from her father. Her life seems more unstable & dramatic than narcissistic to me.

I had the same impression of Brad as you (dumb, alcoholic) but I think there’s more there now. I think she fed his narcissism (at first).

Totally agree with this. Also NPD is not that common amongst women but BPD. And sexual promiscuity is common amongst people with BPD. I also feel like the whole thing with billy Bob Thornton was classic love bombing.

Also agree about Brad. The way he handled the whole thing with Jennifer Aniston was just so cold and unfeeling and the fact that none of his kids who have a choice will spend time with him really speaks to a lot going on behind the curtain

Producer Scott Rudin said this in an email when he found out that Angelina was doing research on different directors for a "Cleopatra" movie:

"I’m not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie. I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and that we don’t. She’s a camp event and a celebrity and that’s all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming.”

I have a great respect for Angelina. She is a very intelligent and private person, quirky certainly, but who has evolved a lot over the course of her life, but always kept a charitable bent. She is very special.

Brad on the other hand, is the typical self-obsessed movie star. Prone to addiction and anger issues. He had a chance with her, and he blew it.

Nobody held a gun to the head of your special humanitarian to have not one but three kids with him.

Disney is putting her in a lot lately though. I doubt she needs money

Yeah I think this is crazy. What’s that saying about people with no friends? Brad seems to be loved by Hollywood. I agree he may not be the sharpest but he does seem like a genuinely good person who was blinded by whatever power Angelina holds. And yes it was his own choice blah blah blah. I’m not absolving him. But he definitely dodged a bullet by getting out.

The ones that don’t want to spend time with him are the oldest ones that Angelina brainwashed early on.

Apparently she does.

"After Angelina Jolie claimed in court documents that her estranged husband, Brad Pitt, hadn't paid "meaningful" formal child support since their split about two years ago, the actor's attorneys fired back in a new filing of their own Wednesday, asserting that Pitt has contributed more than $1.3 million in bills for Jolie and their six children and loaned the actress $8 million to help her buy her current home."

$1.3 million in child support in two years and an $8 million loan?

It seems like Brad was drunk, attacked Angelina and the oldest kid got involved. Seems shady

From what I read, Brad was drunk and argumentative with Angelina. I’ve never read that he physically attacked her. However, the oldest child tried to intervene and Brad got physical with him, likely shoving him hard. Maddox isn’t tall and he’s slim. It wasn’t right for Brad to put his hands on him.

I've read that they just had very different visions for the future. He was tired of globetrotting, wanted to settle down in LA and have a more normal life. She wanted to continue traveling, or maybe move to London and do more humanitarian work. Who knows. As for Maddox, Brad probably perceives him as more of an adult than a child. So when an 18-year old gets mouthy with you, you treat him as another adult in a brawl, not a kid. Still not right, of course.

I think there’s a lot of truth to this. I also think Maddox has a very different relationship with his mother than the rest of kids. Angelina has always gushed about how Maddox saved her life when she adopted him. That’s a lot of pressure for a kid.

Maddox is also the only one of the kids who remembers a life without Brad. Until Brad came along, it was just him and Angelina (she divorced Billy Bob right after she adopted him and raised him alone after that).

What does she need loans for?
