George is a Democratic Socialist who will try to push DC even further left.

George is a wasted vote.

What? Todd doesn't get anything done. He sent out a mailer listing his "accomplishments" that included one outright lie and one gross exaggeration.

Look at everything that's going on. Do you really think Brandon Todd understands and can do anything good with it?

Janeese should be mayor, but I'll settle for councilmember.

OP here. Anyone else get a Todd flyer today? I'm wondering about the fact that they appear to be willing to do "pickups" to get people to the polls--doesn't that go against current social distancing guidelines?

I'm more concerned that we have a Ward 4 councilmember more in line with MAGA than racial justice. Him and his Republican DFER allies.

I am all for Janeese as mayor. It would be awesome for my property values just across the DC line. Would worsen overcrowding in MCPS as people flee over the line, but we would make it work.

Yes, we all know how people flee progress. Well, a certain kind of people anyway. Enjoy your racists and property values. I'd rather have decent people and lower property values.

That’s a very interesting definition of progress.

Are you more accustomed to "progress" as shown in Birth of a Nation?

How would leaving if Janeese became mayor be racist?

Yes, she is black. But so are her predecessors, and the other main candidates likely would be as well. It has to do with political beliefs, not race. Also, DC has only gotten whiter in recent years. Fleeing the city at that point hardly seems racist.

I went to case my vote for Janeese yesterday. Place was empty. I hope this means everyone else was voting Todd out by paper ballot?

OP here. Every time I've checked the waits online, it's been < 5 min at every voting location. I think it's because turnout tends to be low for local elections, and possibly due to the number of absentee ballots requested this time.

So both Todd and Trump are going to get re-elected? Ward 4 is doomed.

Why are people assuming low turnout today is good for Todd?

Low turnout in DC always means incumbents win unless they are under indictment. Muriel had historically low turnout in Ward 4 and also got re-elected. Todd is warmed over Muriel.

It's 9:30 and the voting line is still around the corner and down the street at Murch. Its in Ward 3, but all the signs are Ward 4 signs.
